That's it really. I'm awake even though I should be asleep. I'm tired but like this quiet time to do stuff.
I don't hate sleep, but can easily avoid going to bed Hmm

So anyone else up for no reason whatsoever?

I'm awake too, I'm a bit of an insomniac but currently have knee pain after physio today. I've actually been to sleep already for about an hour but now my body thinks it's time to wake up and get on with the day. I've taken some cocodamol in the hope it will help me drift back off and I'll just be on my phone. Its so annoying as I've got so much to do tomorrow, why does it seem to happen when there's important things to do the next day! Annoying..

niki26 · 16/11/2021 01:25

Because this fucking child - 14 months - is awake and crying EVERY SINGLE TIME I step away from the crib and seems to want me to stand her and watch her not sleep all fucking night. She was awake from 4am yesterday morning so this is particularly fun for me. Especially as I've remembered that I haven't packed my other child's PE kit for school tomorrow so whatever happens between now and 7am I'm going to have to be awake to sort that out.

SweetsAndChocolates · 16/11/2021 01:26

@whatisthisinhere

I'm awake and worrying about things that I can't change. I just ave to get with dealing with it all, but it makes me feel overwhelmed Blush
The worst feeling ever, hope you're able to switch off soon. Maybe some breathing exercises to help ease that tension a little? Smile

Chronic pain here. I'll be lucky to get to sleep before 3am and I've got my alarm set for 6 as I've got a million and one things to do tomorrow.
Though I've just done one of tomorrow's jobs - a number of legal letters written - as I thought I may as well do something constructive. May not have been wise. I probably shouldn't have hit send until re reading when more with it. Ah well, done now. My solicitor will hopefully notice the time on the emails! Now my mind is wide awake as well as my stupid body though.

ReginaaPhalange · 16/11/2021 01:28

Pregnancy insomnia! I had an hour nap at lunchtime which I really needed as was falling asleep. All night I've been soo tired but as soon as I came to bed, I'm awake!

Cat at my head gently snoring, DH has his knee up my back! The joys... Hmm

AutumnAnn · 16/11/2021 01:29

Similar to above, chronic pain, my knees are killing me, waiting for my codeine to kick in so i can finally sleep, my kids will probably have me up at 5am so it'll be another day of exhaustion

SweetsAndChocolates · 16/11/2021 01:29

@Somebodylikeyew hope you're ok now, and did wake DH. Also @PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears has posted some good advice.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and everyone else that has mentioned being unwell :(

Combination of chronic pain and stress induced insomnia. I've been utterly exhausted all day but am wide awake now. Of course I've to be up early for a long drive tomorrow, typical after 20 months of only commuting to the spare room 🙄

Oh no, doesn't sound great :( Is she normally ok during nighttime? If she is, hope it's not because she isn't feeling 100%

I was asleep but brain pinged awake and here I am. My period is due so I've got heartburn (get it occasionally just before period).
I'm not in the UK so it's an hour later for me. Got to be up at 6.30.

TheCheesyBakedBean · 16/11/2021 01:35

My sleep pattern has gone to shit again it does this every now and then. Each night I stay up a bit later than the last. Usually it ends when I do an all nighter. About 4 or 5 times a Year this happens. I am so dog tired all day and then I just don't sleep. The later it gets the more wide awake I am.

I kind of love the peace of it though. When everyone else in the house is asleep, no noise anywhere, it's the only time my home is peaceful and quiet.

Somebodylikeyew · 16/11/2021 01:35

Thanks lovelies. I did also take an antihistamine. Sitting in bed propped up and reading to help me calm down and its definitely feeling less swollen. I’m not asthmatic, no. Haven’t woken DH yet as it is improving but i will if anything changes.

Sorry there’s so many of us not sleeping tonight!

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 16/11/2021 01:36

Just given myself nasal steroid spray for the sinuses and some fizzy paracetomol and realised the paracetomol has friggin caffeine in it Hmm
Great. That's me awake for even longer then

Can't take Sudafed or any anti inflammatory thanks to my other condition and medications so anytime I get something I seem to have to suffer for longer Sad

Sorry having a moan here.
Working two jobs at the minute to cover Xmas and a car repair bill and my full time job is face to face on my feet for the entire day and it's the busiest time of year now so juggling that and house and dc oh and dogs is overwhelming at times especially now while I'm feeling rough Blush

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 16/11/2021 01:40

@Somebodylikeyew

Have you eaten anything different at all?
I once had a reaction not dissimilar after eating a packet of Aldi specially selected cheddar and red onion crisps.

Took antihistamine and sat up awake all night scared to death

Went straight to gp the next morning and he thinks not was a reaction to the food colouring in the crisps

Just out of interest have you had a Covid booster or vaccination in the last two weeks?

Somebodylikeyew · 16/11/2021 01:47

Well. I’ve just been assuming its a cold, but that’s actually an interesting and timely question!
I had what felt like a minor reaction to food last week- my lips and tongue went tingly and vaguely numb. No swelling or trouble breathing etc. It was something I’d eaten before (lasagne!) so i just chalked it up to one of those weird moments in life, sat quietly for twenty minutes till it went away and promptly forgot about it. I had a completely different dinner tonight. But I know from my DH who has allergies that if he’s had one reaction he’s more likely to have another in the coming days/weeks. Hmm, I’ll keep an eye on that, thank you.

Covid vaccination- no. Exposed to covid a couple of weeks ago, DS had it, but I never got it- did 2 x PCRs and daily LFTs…

Somebodylikeyew · 16/11/2021 01:48

wtfisgoingonhere21 that all sounds tough and crappy. You are entitled to have a moan!

lillylemons · 16/11/2021 01:48

My throat has become extremely painful and woken me up 😖 Had Covid 4 weeks ago so can't be that.

MrsMagnum · 16/11/2021 01:55

I suffer from insomnia so most nights are a struggle but tonight I have been entertained at least by my partner's sleep walking and talking to the dog.

StormInAGinGlass · 16/11/2021 01:58

Having to stay awake as my newborn sleeps on me, will try again in the cot soon...

HeadlessGummyBears · 16/11/2021 02:00

I’m an insomniac. But I’m also going leave for work in a few hours to start the dreaded commute so then what seems to happen pretty much all the time is that I’m always worried that I might oversleep. That fear then prevents me from going back to sleep.

Instead I just embrace it. Prepare packed lunch, eat “breakfast”, plan for the day and then play some of Animal Crossing or even cook a meal so I have it ready when I come home from work.

GoingBacktoSchool123 · 16/11/2021 02:00

ADHD and never get my work done during normal working hours.

Decided to go to bed about 45 mins ago but had to faff and needed to sort out kids bags/breakfast and dog walker stuff for the morning as I have an early start and need kids and dog sorted by 7.45 to make it to work for a 9am meeting. Means I'm getting up in 6 hrs and 45 mins!,,

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 16/11/2021 02:15

My alarm
Will be going off in exactly 4 sodding hours Confused

MrsA2015 · 16/11/2021 02:18

I’m up with a toothache. I have horrific dental anxiety if that’s even a thing. But it’s finally happened, the tooth I’ve been avoiding treating has given in and is causing my face to feel like it’s caving in. wails in agony
