How do you pronounce...?

I just fell down an internet rabbit hole and found this - how to pronounce various brand names. I like to think I get things right, but there were a few which caught me out. And sometimes we have 'how do you pronounce...?' threads.

How would you do?

Heard someone say Moschino on tv recently. I’ve been pronouncing it wrong (in my head) for years. Thankfully fashion really isn’t my thing.

I disagree with Sega, the advert growing up was “do me a favour, plug me into a Say-ga” not see-ga.

Hyundai also used to be high-un-die.

I don’t understand why that’s wrong unless you’re not talking about Amazon?!

Nutella is nut-ella for the English speaking world; for Italians and Spaniards and the like it would be closer to ‘noo’ sound purely because they don’t really have the ‘uh’ sound in nut like we do.

That article is terrible though. Not only are the pronunciations written really badly but several are just wrong. And many completely incomprehensible that people would say it wrong in the first place.

I’ve never heard anyone pronounce ikea correctly. I can’t wait to correct my father, he’s the kind of twat that gets angry when other people pronounce things incorrectly.

I really don't hear enough of a distinction between the two to have considered them different (or incorrect) pronunciations tbh.

Not on your list but I've been pronouncing blink182 wrong my entire teenage years. Only found out the right way age 31.

I’ll keep saying it ‘wrong’ in the same way I’ll keep saying nike instead of nikey and ah-DEE-das instead of ADDY-das. I know it’s wrong but everyone I know is also wrong, so I don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb

Come to the US then. The American pronunciation of the company and the river is something like Ama-zaan. The stress is approximately equal on both syllables to contrast with the usual British pronunciation which puts stress on the first syllable, so something like AM-a-zun.

Another car brand which is usually pronounced wrongly in the U.K. is Skoda. We say Skow-duh but the correct pronunciation is Schkodda, with ‘odd’ as the stressed syllable.

Skoda were a client of ours in a previous job and nobody, including some incredibly senior people there, ever used the pronunciation you're suggesting

Did they mention Anaïs Anaïs? That is my own little favourite, but I can be a pedant.
The Adidas mispronunciation has always irritated me.
Not sure if it's a 'northern thing' but nobody ever says it correctly here
