Living a double life

Have you ever met someone or heard of someone doing this?

I know a woman whose husband regularly travelled abroad, fetching back beautiful presents, but after he died, she found his passport with just a trip to france on it.

He drove for a living (but had never actually passed his test) until he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and went rapidly downhill.
(He was spotted in an out of the way place, sitting in a cafe, eating a huge fry up, (although he was barely eating at home, and had appointments with dieticians and was prescribed build up drinks)

In short, his whole life was a lie, but she never found out why.

I used to know someone who found out her fiance had two children she didn't know about. She knew he had two children, she'd even met them. Along with his parents and friends. She hadn't met their two older siblings though. Siblings from the same marriage, just a bit older. He'd only showed her photos of two of them at a time, and his family and friends all knew he was lying to her.

Seems to be mainly men who do this. I know a friend who met a man online who fabricated his entire life. He turned out to be homeless and jobless and latched onto her becoming the ultimate cock lodger, claiming he moved hundreds of miles to be with her out of pure love (no you wanted a place to live mate!). He made up a successful career that had never existed. He claimed his family had died all in extreme circumstances so she never got to check his background. He made up a fake illness and would have to disappear for hospital visits. All very strange. Even stranger is the fact she's still with him.
