Exante Diet food - is it all gross?

I just ordered the 21 day plan and included some savoury meals.
I just ‘cooked’ the carbonara and it’s literally revolting. It’s nothing like the picture on their website and it’s inedible.
Is it all going to be like this?
I have gained so much weight and really wanted this to work but I'm not sure I can stomach more food that tastes like that did!

I’ve never tried but I had a look at the website as I am in the health field. I checked the nutritional profile of the meals and the ingredients. Judging by that, they’re all probably muck.

Could you create a healthy meal for £1? Unfortunately I don’t thing so. Sorry OP.

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 02/11/2021 18:53

Its not the best 😀

The bars were the best thing i tried and even they weren’t great

Moonopoly · 02/11/2021 18:56

@LadyCampanulaTottington thanks for replying. I have a really unhealthy relationship with food and have got in to an awful cycle of binge eating and constantly craving food. I though that this might give me a bit of a ‘reset’ as I only would have that to eat.
It really isn’t anything like it looks online :(

Yes, tastes like shit. I have half a box of stuff I can't bear to use

Moonopoly · 02/11/2021 18:58

@RufustheBadgeringReindeer it seemed to have pretty good trust pilot reviews but if they are all like the one I had tonight I think I’ve wasted my money

Try 1-1 Cambridge diet instead. I actually really liked some of the meals.

Schmooo · 02/11/2021 18:58

Yep, the food is disgusting 🤮
But the shakes and puddings are delicious, hopefully you ordered some of those too

SallySkelington · 02/11/2021 18:58

The bars are better but to be honest, Exante really messed me up psychologically in terms of my relationship with food. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pool!

Moonopoly · 02/11/2021 18:59

@Kittykat93 oh no! Did you ask for a refund? It’s literally nothing like the photos of the ‘food’

OP posts:
GlamourSpider · 02/11/2021 18:59

The shakes are okay, otherwise it's grim Sad

LadyCampanulaTottington · 02/11/2021 19:00

@Moonopoly I get that. Sorry it’s not more positive. I myself am a terrible emotional eater.

I joined a weight loss program recently that has members who binge eat and the program actually helped them stop. One woman said she went for 6 weeks without binge eating for the first time in 20 years. It’s a high protein diet and it seems to really work.

Moonopoly · 02/11/2021 19:00

@schmoo yes I have some but I prefer savoury so the majority are ‘dinners’ or soups

@GlamourSpider wish I’d asked on here first!

@LadyCampanulaTottington do you have the name of it?

ShrillSiren · 02/11/2021 19:02

I'll be honest, most of it isn't great but some are better than others. I tend to add a few shakes of Maggi Liquid seasoning to most of the savoury food. Maybe try that or Worcestershire sauce or Bovril to see if it makes them more palatable. Also, add some veg to bulk it out and dilute the taste. I like the sweet and sour noodles and the bolognese and cottage pie is just about acceptable.
I found the fruit flavoured shakes are better than the chocolate and the same goes for the bars.

ShrillSiren · 02/11/2021 19:04

BTW, there are lots of Exante groups on Facebook to get ideas to make it better.

Moonopoly · 02/11/2021 19:05

@ShrillSiren I have the noodles and Bolognese (two types?) and the cottage pie. I’ll try your idea. Maybe some soy for some too?!

Snap. Mine are currently languishing in a box under my bed. The shakes were just about ok, but the meals were utterly revolting.
Moonopoly · 02/11/2021 19:06

@ShrillSiren thank you - I’ll have a look! You think that would be their job to make it taste at least edible!

OP posts:
Moonopoly · 02/11/2021 19:07

@72WayTooCool oh no! The ‘carbonara’ was so grim. I don’t even know how you make something taste that gross!

Have a look at Rhiannon Lambert - she is a registered nutritionist so it might be worth booking a session with her. She works with people who have a difficult relationship with food and will probably be able to help you make long-term, sustainable changes.

ScottishNewbie · 02/11/2021 19:17

I'm on Slim and Save. I only use the bars, soups, shakes and porridges as I don't like the savoury options...but I've lost 16kgs in 4 months (had a few breaks).

36degrees · 02/11/2021 19:21

The shakes and bars are fine, mostly. The 'meals' are revolting. I'm 2st down and DH is 3st down, it works.

Kittykat93 · 02/11/2021 19:22

Honestly op even the so called 'berries yoghurt' was just inedible. Spaghetti Bolognese was like scrambled dirt, lentil Dahl was disgusting, the most edible was the sweet and sour noodles and even that tasted of shite. Such a waste of money I'm really disappointed.

hamstersarse · 02/11/2021 19:23

Yes

Just eat proper food
