This cake - yes or no?

I fancy one of these frilly vintagey cakes for my 30th birthday party but not sure if they're stylish granny-chic or just a bit granny? What do you think?

That's the question... it looks fine (in the way it's meant to) but as though it would be incredibly sickly and just messy and not very nice to eat.

This would be my thinking.
I mean, it isn't to my taste, to look at, but then it isn't my birthday.
If I were at your party, I'd just say "no thanks" when the cake came round.

The important thing is, if you like it. I'm edging towards if you have to "ask permission from the internet" then you probably don't like it enough. If you loved it, you'd just have it anyway.
