Can anyone help identify a missing beloved soft toy!!

I have majorly fucked up….stayed in a premier inn last night and my 9yr old DD’s most previous White Rabbity was left behind 😢 Have contacted PI who said it wasn’t found in room and was most likely bundled off to their off site laundry service and basically there is no hope of getting it back! I have an inconsolable DD so hoping by the power of mumsnet it can be identified and maybe a replacement found! Picture hopefully attached of the precious rabbit - it was a christening present so bought around December 2012. Unbranded I think which doesn’t help! Does anyone recognise our little friend?? He looks quite plump in this photo, must be a bad angle as he isn’t really that round of body!!

One very happy DD this morning 🥰 First thing she asked was has White Rabbity been found! I have gone with he was found by the laundry team so will come back looking fresh and new….not 100% convinced she will buy it so may have to fess up when he arrives.

It is definitely the exact same white rabbit as she also had the pink toadstool lamp (in fact I wish I knew where that has gone!!) and the fairy cushion is still on the end of her bed!

@BloominNora

So pleased you've been able to find a replacement.

When our puppy at DDs precious toy, we knew the exact make and name but couldn't get a replacement at all.

I still look occasionally and just missed out on one on French eBay a couple of years ago :-(

Post the details. You never know the magic of mumsnet,
BloominNora · 27/10/2021 22:20

@Kiduknot - it was an Egmont Twiggy Strawberry mouse.

Just got very excited when I found one here but it is a Dutch site and this item doesn't ship to the UK Sad

@BloominNora this is a UK brand stockist
www.s-cbrands.com/egmonttoys/

Egmont’s website suggests stockists can sometimes order in for you?
Possibly worth a call.

meadowbleu · 27/10/2021 23:24

Oh, I just saw it’s wholesale only. Still, for the sake of a call, maybe they could suggest something.

PixellatedPixie · 27/10/2021 23:26

My daughter’s favourite toy was chews by a visiting dog and I was kicky enough to find an exact replacement on eBay. It was from a random supermarket but almost an exact match.

Right magic mumsnetters , my 2 year old left his blue Teddy in a wardrobe of a Eurocamp tent in the South of France, didn't notice till we got home, then he couldn't understand why we wouldn't drive the 1000 miles back to get him😢 I challenge you to find a duplicate................... Oh by the way he's 30 and still not forgiven me😂 glad bunny is going to find his way home 🐇😘

Awesome news, what a result

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 29/10/2021 17:30

Might be better for you to start a new thread @Mossstitch

Mykittensmittens · 29/10/2021 18:54

@BunnytheFriendlyDragon mossstitch was being ironic I think - her DS lost his toy 28 years ago Grin

Hexinthecity · 29/10/2021 19:01

@Whatevertheweather when he arrives Chuck him in the washing machine and tumble dry him a load it times to get his fur to clump up a bit like the old one, so he’s not so brand new, that might help. God shout telling her he was found by the laundry company and he’ll be cleaned!

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 29/10/2021 19:47

Oh @Mykittensmittens sorry @Mossstitch didn't read properly!

Whatevertheweather · 29/10/2021 19:57

He arrived today! DD was absolutely beside herself, she was absolutely cracked up at how white and fluffy the laundry had managed to get him…she was utterly incredulous but seems to believe it is actual White Rabbity as he still fits perfectly under her arm so it must be him 🥰 He’s not left her sight today!!

Never had any further response from Premier Inn!!

Ah that's lovely, glad she's happy.

TSSDNCOP · 29/10/2021 20:15

Oh dear god OP! Flashback! Rabbit (who is a rabbit) got wrapped in the sheets whilst we were in foreign parts and went to the laundry. DS, age 11, but it was Rabbit who has been with us forever and has travelled round the world, gulping back hot tears.

DH went to Reception and offered a €50 reward for his return.

Rabbit returned, what tales he had for the guys back home, pristine white and still warm and damp.

DS, now 14 and still devoted, has never let him out of his sight since.

NatriumChloride · 29/10/2021 20:45

@Mykittensmittens, you made my day! This thread is so nice 😊

Ellmau · 30/10/2021 12:42

Fabulous!

IncessantNameChanger · 30/10/2021 12:54

I have one of the woven name tapes sewn to my dds bunny label. It has my mobile number on it and our postcode. Another one with her name on.

I also have three of the blighters in various stages of decomposition.

Can you tell she is my 4th child 🤣

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 30/10/2021 13:02

Never tell her. Even when she is 30 and still has white rabbit on her bed. Don't tell her.

So happy you have found one and she hasn't noticed. Good thinking about the laundry people getting him cleaned!

spiderlight · 01/11/2021 19:22

Ahhhh, so happy that White Rabbity has been accepted! (Have you ever read Tatty Ratty? Remarkably similar story!)

Cervicalflop · 01/11/2021 19:37

This has made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

MrsCardone · 01/11/2021 19:43

For the future, I would ask the hotel on Twitter. Whenever I have an issue with a company, I contact them via Twitter and the problem is resolved.
