Can anyone help identify a missing beloved soft toy!!

I have majorly fucked up….stayed in a premier inn last night and my 9yr old DD’s most previous White Rabbity was left behind 😢 Have contacted PI who said it wasn’t found in room and was most likely bundled off to their off site laundry service and basically there is no hope of getting it back! I have an inconsolable DD so hoping by the power of mumsnet it can be identified and maybe a replacement found! Picture hopefully attached of the precious rabbit - it was a christening present so bought around December 2012. Unbranded I think which doesn’t help! Does anyone recognise our little friend?? He looks quite plump in this photo, must be a bad angle as he isn’t really that round of body!!

Gund baby and Moulin Roty also do white plush bunnies with velvet ears and long feet like yours OP. Both were made before 2012 too.

Mykittensmittens · 26/10/2021 23:51

Aww my pleasure OP I’m so pleased. Now you just have to find one !!

Mykittensmittens · 26/10/2021 23:51

Which should be easy as they have them in stock!!

I'd email PI customer services / contact them on social media and ask if they could forward your message to the laundry. They probably won't tell you who it is due to confidentiality surrounding their contracts but I can't see why they couldn't forward your details.

If it helps at all in the slightest OP, I lost my beloved item at a similar age. I thought I'd left it behind on a residential trip with school. I was absolutely devastated.. but only for a couple of nights or so, honestly.
I ended up being slightly relieved as deep down i knew I was starting to hide it when I realised my friends didn't have a similar thing.

I actually found it nearly 20 years later clearing through my parents loft... I'm still a bit peeved now come to think about it 🤷🏽‍♀️😂

Brilliant news!

Whatevertheweather · 26/10/2021 23:53

I can’t believe he’s actually from a company called White Rabbit 🤣 That’s all he’s ever been called by DD. Replacement ordered so even if by some miracle original is found he can have a friend!

Just glad I could help and now I can go to sleep happily I cannot abide missing things!

Joking aside - I’ve had a thought for many years now that someone should set up a company microchipping precious toys. It would surely save so much heartache!

Hope the new rabbit settles in quickly and it’s older cousin finds its way home.

Gingerish · 26/10/2021 23:58

Love a happy ending. I hope you do locate original White Rabbity but at least you can get a back up.

My DD aged 2 dropped her favourite teddy on the bus. It was from Toys R Us so obviously no longer around. We had a fraught 24 hours before he was located at a random bus garage. I saw random because it wasn’t either terminus of the bus route and someone with older kids gave me a list of which local buses used which depot! Anyway we were all so pleased to have him home. 2 years later and they are still besties.

Is another site for lost and found toys, they post on social channels too.

expat101 · 27/10/2021 00:26

Unbelievable that PI wouldn't tell you who does their laundry, what do they have to worry about giving out the info?

Would an opposition chain know or even any of the commercial-sized laundry services? I think if you can contact them directly, they would put the effort in to ensure white rabbit doesn't go in the trash.

BeaLola · 27/10/2021 00:32

My DS small white Teddy got tangled up in hotel duvet and went off to their laundry

2 days later he returned to our room looking so white (think Ryland teeth white) - DS was sooo happy

Kiduknot · 27/10/2021 00:36

What’s the story going to be? Will he be accepted do you think?

AcrossthePond55 · 27/10/2021 01:16

I was having a 'not so good' day. This has brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face.

Thank you @Whatevertheweather and @Mykittensmittens

StElwicks · 27/10/2021 07:01

Also never give up hope about the laundry. We were in NY a few years ago staying at a big InterContinental Hotel. My DD’s precious bunny got scooped up in the laundry, she was dressed in a little dress that my lovely aunt had made who had only just died very recently, so a bunny loaded with sentiment. Anyway the whole trip she was gone until the last day - there was a knock on our door at midnight and they had found her, she was very clean but restored to us in tact.

BloominNora · 27/10/2021 07:09

So pleased you've been able to find a replacement.

When our puppy at DDs precious toy, we knew the exact make and name but couldn't get a replacement at all.

I still look occasionally and just missed out on one on French eBay a couple of years ago :-(

TeenMinusTests · 27/10/2021 08:04

Glad you have identified her. DD has a 'special rabbit'. Special Rabbit is never allowed out of the house. For holidays other cuddlies have to be chosen - we also have minimum and maximum size rules for travelling animals. Not too small to hide, not too large to take up too much space in car or bags.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 27/10/2021 08:11

So pleased you found it OP thanks to lots of kind and helpful people on Mumsnet
