Returning for the third year and back by popular demand - well, doyen of the WAG-world @AnneKipankitoo has been pestering me to start one.

Change your name to something Hallowe'eny and post, telling us what your previous name was if you like and especially if you've chosen a pun on your old name. Leave it at that if you prefer, or post whatever you like in the spirit of Hallowe'en fun and shenanigans.

No voting, no prizes, all welcome in all your gory glory.

It's time to swap our pearls for skulls and clutch them instead. Come and join us...if you dare.

And I invoke the spirit of MNHWOOoooo: RELEASE THOSE HALLOWE'EN EMOJIS!!!

@TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM

Yes, it really was Hallowe'en Horror weather, wasn't it? At one point quite late last night, as we were all sitting by pumpkin candlelight, our back door was blown open and leaves flew in and swirled around in the doorway and over us at the kitchen table. Halloween Shock I found myself calling out, 'do come in!' We laughed but it certainly added to the atmosphere! It's very dark and at night where we live.
Now I sincerely hope it wasn't a vampire!! We all know they cannot enter your home unless they are invited....

He could be hiding in your attic right now waiting for the sun to go down!

TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM · 01/11/2021 12:16

returned with a meagre amount of Halloween booty.
Remembering fondly the year of an apple and an orange each and a packet of oatcakes to share. Luckily we had a few things at home we could add to their sad little buckets! Halloween Grin

And yes, they did still say thank you very much for those, if a little surprised. Halloween Smile

@cricketmum84

Haha *@TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM* she has gone for a sleep now as feeling generally crap today, she didn't like little shop of horrors Haloween Sad

Me and DD(17) are watching the sixth sense (again). I can just about get through that one with minimal cushions needed. It's only eldest DDs second time of watching it and we are enjoying picking up on all the clues you always miss the first time round!

I hope she's feeling better today and that the rest of the family are ok, @SpookyScarySkeletons ?

The teen DC here and pals had watched Midsommar at the Hallowe'en party the previous night - much hilarity when this was relayed afterwards because I thought they'd watched an episode of Midsomer Murders which is my kind of scary Halloween Grin

Oh when my older ones were small I remember one year they got apples and a few pennies. Very disappointed! I took them to my mums and she gave them a gingerbread pig and a KitKat.
SpookyScarySkeletons · 01/11/2021 12:58

@KurtWildeWitchOfTheWoods we have a family of JW on our street. The kids went and knocked one year and they gave them both leaflets and a sheet of bible quotes....

Ooof!!! Bet they had them all ready in preparation and it made a change someone knocking on their door instead of the other way round Grin

Well, we do have bats up there, @SpookyScarySkeletons yes, really so he'd be quite at home. Halloween Shock

I have just realised why @iklboogiemaninthecloset 's soggy moggies are such a sulky pair: not only is it raining but their humans have also been away for the weekend. It has truly been a twin horror of a Hallowe'en for them. Halloween Envy Halloween Envy you have to imagine green sulky moggy faced bewhiskered emojis here

iklboogiemaninthecloset · 01/11/2021 13:33

@TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM - even worse, I was away for the night a fortnight ago and last week I had to stay with my mum a few days while dad was in hospital. The white one is barely speaking to me.

You truly are neglectful, aren't you, @iklboogiemaninthecloset Halloween Shock

I hope your parents are doing ok.

What does The White One usually say, when you deserve talking to? Not that I claim ours talks, you understand, oh no Halloween Blush

@KurtWildeWitchOfTheWoods

Soggy but happy kids.

Not much happiness going on with those soggy moggies though @iklboogiemaninthecloset They look like they think the weather is your fault! My dogs certainly do. They take one look out of the back door at the rain, mud and puddles, then up at me like 'did you do this?' And slink back into their beds Halloween Smile

A friend's cats always go straight through the house to the front door if they don't like the look of the weather out of the back door. They are quite put out if it's no good at the front too.

it made a change someone knocking on their door instead of the other way around!

@TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM - he can't really miaow, it's very quiet. So I either get the cold shoulder or he sits on his cushion with his back completely to me. The tuxedo is very vocal and shouts at us that he's been neglected and has never been fed.

ArchwizardTVampirebat · 01/11/2021 14:45

Ah ha! You have found me out @TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM

'Tis merely my daytime lurking place ...

Hallowe'en tends to spin out till Bonfire/Guy Fawkes Night with us, so the pumpkins have been lit again tonight and I've made a huge vat cauldron of pumpkin soup. It all disappeared pretty quickly and I can highly recommend Felicity Cloake's recipe. Halloween Smile

OP posts:
AnneKipankiWOO · 01/11/2021 22:13

Great name Felicity!

TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM · 02/11/2021 08:26

Trust bright spark @AnneKipankiWOO for noticing the very apt name - I didn't until she pointed it out! Yes, Cloake really is her name. Halloween Smile

OP posts:
KurtWildeWitchOfTheWoods · 02/11/2021 08:46

Halloween lasts till guy fawkes night in this house too. The pumpkins are still going strong, and there's still plenty of spooky goodies in the house. I'm still enjoying the pumpkin soup and I made some pumpkin bread this morning which won't last the day.

We light fireworks in our Jack o lanterns on bonfire night, give them a proper send off. Then the shells go on the compost heap. The garden loves a bit of pumpkin mulch.

AnneKipankiWOO · 02/11/2021 09:18

Ooh pumpkin mulch !
Sounds interesting @KurtWildeWitchOfTheWoods.

I do like apt names @TheWOooWOooWOoonlyMrsM Halloween Grin

KurtWildeWitchOfTheWoods · 02/11/2021 09:35

@AnneKipankiWOO my garden gets a distinctly orange hue over the next couple of months with all the innards and soggy skins.
