Change your name to something Hallowe'eny and post, telling us what your previous name was if you like and especially if you've chosen a pun on your old name. Leave it at that if you prefer, or post whatever you like in the spirit of Hallowe'en fun and shenanigans.

Ha, at about 13 years my DS2 figured out he didn't need to canvas the neighbourhood for treats on Halloween...he knew that the shops had all their sweets on offer 75% off the day after so he'd use his pocket money...practical, that one I think he kind of missed the point😂

Trick or treating was a damp squib, not many were answering their door! Kids still enjoyed it though, came home absolutely soaking wet and blown around but still smiling! Weird creatures!

Hardly anyone came to ours. We had put the sign in the door apologising. We have a ring doorbell so we saw 4 groups approaching and then reading the sign and going. It was torrential rain here though.

Yep we got the torrential rain too. I had been about to veto it but friends and their mum turned up before I could call and cancel. Half an hour later my dripping wet spooks returned with a meagre amount of Halloween booty but still happy so...

Good moaning. It's hammering down here today. I've got soggy moggies who are not happy. Really dark here too.

Nobody called last night, as expected. I don't think I saw anybody out either. Most will probably have gone to one of the local pubs who were having parties

Yes, it really was Hallowe'en Horror weather, wasn't it? At one point quite late last night, as we were all sitting by pumpkin candlelight, our back door was blown open and leaves flew in and swirled around in the doorway and over us at the kitchen table. I found myself calling out, 'do come in!' We laughed but it certainly added to the atmosphere! It's very dark and at night where we live.

There seems to be an extra 'and' in that last sentence; the gremlins have even taken over my keyboard.

Absolutely, @KurtWildeWitchOfTheWoods - I remember the years when they've insisted on going out in pouring rain - and we have to walk quite some distances over country in the pitch black here and to the few neighbours so pickings are sparse - and come back soaking wet and with the sweeties all soggy and colours running because of all the rain water in the bottom of their treat buckets. But they were still happy.

Not much happiness going on with those soggy moggies though @iklboogiemaninthecloset They look like they think the weather is your fault! My dogs certainly do. They take one look out of the back door at the rain, mud and puddles, then up at me like 'did you do this?' And slink back into their beds
