How much attention does your cat need a day?

We are always told that cats are aloof but mine has to have an hour or more of cuddles a day to function. How much attention does you cat need and how affectionate are they?

Mine is a lockdown kitten (just over a year old now) and I've WFH the whole time we've had him. I can honestly only think of a few instances he has been left for a 'whole day'

We went away in June but the kitten is so used to human company someone had to come and stay with him Shock

He is a lovely, friendly, easy going boy who just slotted in to family life (3 primary aged kids) but he has never really had to get used to his own company.

  • I work PT so when / if I do go back to the office it won't be all day and everyday he us suddenly alone.

I have a rescue Ragdoll. He was 3 when we rehomed him in June last year. We were his third (and will be last!) home. His first owner kept him in a garage. Then she died and a neighbour thought he was pretty so took him on. Lasted a few months. He sleeps with us, has massive cuddles in the morning when DD wakes up. And spends the rest of the day following me from sofa, to bed etc. (I work from home Part time, but am disabled so sometimes have a lie down on my bed) I reckon I ended up picking a cat which was unseen during lockdown who totally suits us. And us, him. I couldn't have picked a better friend!

Ha! Mine wants ALL the attention, but no, not that sort of attention. Or that sort. OK, that'll do... Or Dreamies, they're always welcome 😂

Boycat is dependent but not a lap cat. He gets the arseache if he is fussed over too much. He worries when we are sick though. Girlcat likes to be with me as much as possible and rarely gets fed up of fuss. They are both with me at the moment although Boycat fell out with me because he couldnt go out because it was raining...
