Petrol queues disappeared overnight here, anywhere else?

We’re in the Essex borders and the petrol mayhem was ridiculous in our town from the Friday before last lunchtime until last night. Queues were still there but much less so DH filled up.

This morning there are no queues anywhere. Forecourts have a normal amount of cars on. It’s like it never happened and thank fuck for that!

Is it still going on elsewhere?

Just seem this on the BBC website.

1 in 5 petrols stations in London and the SE have no fuel

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 04/10/2021 22:20

Back to normal in Worcestershire

KilledByWitches · 04/10/2021 23:11

I'm in Staffs. Went down to see dd in Milton Keynes at the weekend. Every petrol station I passed had no fuel or no diesel signs. And same in mk itself.
Got back here and went to my local and honestly thought it was closed. It was 10pm and empty. No problem getting diesel at all.

Rrrob · 04/10/2021 23:14

SE London/ Kent border. Still crazy here. DH is cycling to work tomorrow and neighbour is getting two buses and a train. No one seems to have fuel.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 04/10/2021 23:17

Essex / London border here
. Its only started to calm down yesterday.. only about 5 cars ln the queue instead of around 30 cars Friday week ago

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 04/10/2021 23:20

Saying that a major retailer in a massive town still had no petrol available
But smaller ones ( not loyal card holders supermarkets) are ok

FuckYouCorona · 04/10/2021 23:21

No petrol where I live in Surrey. Luckily I filled up the day before this fiasco started, but will need to fill up again soon. How I don't know! Sad

BigSandyBalls2015 · 05/10/2021 08:50

Found some last night … £20 limit!

TSSDNCOP · 05/10/2021 18:28

Not in Kent. Garages also price gouging.

Shout out to Asda who seem to have nailed delivery and price control. They'll have my custom for ever.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 05/10/2021 18:37

Local town completely out of fuel, I give up now. 6 miles left in tank.

BathroomWindow · 05/10/2021 18:46

Lancashire:
I was away when the fuel panic began and wondered what I'd come back home to but can honestly say I've seen hardly any problems. Last week Tesco had a sign saying 'no diesel' but otherwise the pumps were open - no queues. Since then I've passed a few garages all operating normally - again no queues.

FreeButtonBee · 08/10/2021 07:22

I tried for the first time last night. Have been putting off lots of driving and and very lucky I don’t need a car for work. But tried 5 petrol stations and no luck at any of them.

MarshaBradyo · 08/10/2021 07:25

Fine here SE London but almost no queues did get busier (but not long) as people realised

Mybalconyiscracking · 08/10/2021 07:30

The government has rounded all the petrol queuers up and put them in an underground bunker with the bodies of those who have died from the COVID vaccines.

Hopeisallineed · 08/10/2021 07:33

We live NW, tbh wasn’t bad here at all. At no point we’re we unable to get petrol and have not had to queue. Mind you, also did not have food or toilet roll shortages during lockdown. I think Cumbrians do not panic buy. 😂

Samcro · 08/10/2021 07:33

trying in Brighton today. wish me luck

MrsPToBe123 · 08/10/2021 07:34

It's been ok In the midlands for quite a while but I've heard there's still an issue in south east. What I have noticed is that the price is steep (and I never usually follow petrol prices!)

Roselilly36 · 08/10/2021 07:40

Norwich queues have calmed down, south east of England still seems to be lengthy queues though.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 08/10/2021 07:48

Still bad around here just out west of London, although I did drive straight to a pump at Morrisons on Wednesday no problem but up the road queues were huge.🤷‍♀️ It’s causing a lot of traffic issues locally.

Yep, petrol prices here have gone up 10p a litre here since this started. Thieving bastards.
Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 08/10/2021 07:51

Also in Essex border but neither garage in my smallish town have any fuel - thankfully l work fairly local

dworky · 08/10/2021 07:54

No, not here in East London. Not as bad but still gridlocks the area at times

REDHERO · 08/10/2021 07:58

It lasted 2 days in the rural SW. The problem appeared to be media created in the main, no fuel so everyone went looking for it.

PieMistee · 08/10/2021 08:04

I guess a lot of people have filled up and driven less. Still some petrol stations around here with taped up pumps but not as many (Manchester)

StCharlotte · 08/10/2021 08:41

@BigSandyBalls2015

Still mad here, South London/surrey
Same arwa I think. I wouldn't say mad but the garage at the end of my road only seems to have diesel most of the time.
