Petrol queues disappeared overnight here, anywhere else?

We’re in the Essex borders and the petrol mayhem was ridiculous in our town from the Friday before last lunchtime until last night. Queues were still there but much less so DH filled up.

This morning there are no queues anywhere. Forecourts have a normal amount of cars on. It’s like it never happened and thank fuck for that!

Is it still going on elsewhere?

Norfolk. The Morrisons that I visited on Saturday evening (for shopping) had a 2.5+ hour queue for fuel.
In the vicinity again to day with my fuel light on so bit the bullet. 15 minute queue and no limits. Squirted £75 worth of diesel into my tank. Should be good for another 600+ miles. Guy at the pump in front managed less than £5 before his tank was full . . . .

I’m south London/ Surrey - not managed to get petrol yet. Still long queues and stress!

FreeButtonBee · 04/10/2021 20:53

Still bad round this way (SW London) i am deliberately not using the car and putting off jorneys but finding it a bit tedious now.

passionfruitpizza · 04/10/2021 20:53

Still really bad here.

Yes! Hampshire market town - DH unable to get petrol at all Saturday, queues at tesco Sunday but managed to get some although had to wait - this morning I drove straight into the forecourt and filled up. Like it never happened ....
Elephantsparade · 04/10/2021 20:57

Theres no queues as there is no petrol in the closest 4 stations. I hear the supermarket has petrol and queues

waltzingparrot · 04/10/2021 21:02

@HouseworkDodger. Don't count your chickens. I thought it was all over here
(S Hants) last Friday - forecourt acting all normal, genteel filling up, no queues. Bam - back to mad world on Saturday and ever since.

peepholepringle · 04/10/2021 21:04

It's a total nightmare here (Buckinghamshire).
No fuel anywhere, and no delivery for days now.
We're fortunate that we had a full tank before all of this all kicked off but it's getting to the stage that we need to top up soon with no chance to do so.

Evergibbon · 04/10/2021 21:11

I'm in Bucks and drove straight on our local garage forecourt this morning. Just had to wait for one car... DH advised our Asda had fuel too and didn't look bad.

CosmicComfort · 04/10/2021 21:20

Still bad in Sussex. Queues or no fuel round here.

Better in Oxford where I filled up today. No queue at all, was very liberating and felt quite odd🤩

jazzandh · 04/10/2021 21:22

Agree with - no facebook - no petrol queues!

Dominated FB pages for days!

SE I think we were out locally earlier, (probably for about 5 minutes) but without exception every fuel station within a 5 mile radius has had fuel at some point in each day if not a delivery.

I daresay that is way way more than usual, so we continue to run ourselves dry!

Too much money and too much time to queue, is all I can conclude.

Floralnomad · 04/10/2021 21:25

It’s been better since Saturday in our part of Kent , lots of closed fuel stations but no real queues at the ones that are open .

AnyFucker · 04/10/2021 21:26

Back to normal for several days here (Manchester)

mateysmum · 04/10/2021 21:28

Back to normal in my Somerset town yesterday.

gogohm · 04/10/2021 21:31

We had no issues for over a week now, it's definitely improved most places. The problem started in a small area and that's where there's still a problem, apparently there's insufficient petrol stations really so they rely on very frequent deliveries

isitjustlockdown · 04/10/2021 21:34

West London....... we're still screwed, luckily I haven't needed to fill up yet but will soon.
Most near me ran out today and those that weren't still had hour plus queues.

I was on the M25 earlier, Clacket lane services had no fuel at all and Cobham was only diesel, but a huge queue so I didn't bother waiting as not desperate yet.

LaurieFairyCake · 04/10/2021 21:34

None in SE London in the nearest 4 to me

WinterCarlisle · 04/10/2021 21:35

SE London / Kent border and it’s still a nightmare. We’re ok ish at the mo as we don’t do a lot of miles but I am starting to get a bit twitched………

Whattodoin2022 · 04/10/2021 21:38

Still craziness in NW London. I need to get petrol at some point this week so hoping hoping it goes back to normal soon. I went to do my weekly shopping and got stuck in a queue for people waiting for a tanker to offload but causing chaos as it meant I had to come the longer way home.

Babdoc · 04/10/2021 21:39

Rural Perthshire. We never had a problem in the first place. I’ve driven past my local petrol station on the A90 several times, always open, no queues. I filled up as normal, and the woman on the till said they’d had deliveries regularly.

JoeMaplin · 04/10/2021 21:41

Hampshire - still totally mad everywhere round here

SquirmOfEels · 04/10/2021 21:42

Still bad in my part of London. Nearest two completely out of fuel

Silvercatowner · 04/10/2021 21:57

There was a tanker at my local petrol station and honestly, it was like the pied piper. All the roads leading to the petrol station were gridlocked. I had to do a U turn and find another way home.

HungryHippo11 · 04/10/2021 22:02

Petrol stations seem to be reopening here, slightly longer queue than normal but nothing like last weekend when they were queuing down the road

Hothammock · 04/10/2021 22:05

Kent. No queues because the stations are shut!
