If you had a member of staff off sick with exhaustion/stress. What would be acceptable activities for them to be doing whilst they were off.

For example, exercise, going to the pub, going on holiday, out dancing and drinking, weekends away etc etc

'no commitments'? Perhaps none that you know of. Perhaps they just don't share rhus information with you because you'd use it against them. There are literally hundreds of things that they could have commitments to and they're in no way obliged to tell you about any of them.

You're their manager - not their Doctor. They're following the process, you should too.

@MrsPinkCock

Going abroad when signed off sick is a bit off. They should be using annual leave for that. The rest of it, not so much.

Presumably you will hold a return to work meeting with them when their sick note expires?

I have just been off with work related stress ( yep, a bit of bullying too) We had booked our holiday abroad months ago and it did me the world of good.
It has been changed to sick leave, even though it was of course annual leave, but that wasn't my decision
