@KloppsTeeth

I found a Claddagh ring when I was 19. It looked quite old. I handed it in to the police, but no one claimed it, so I was able to keep it. I was fascinated by it and wore it for years as I felt it shouldnt be stuck in a drawer. Then one day I lost it. I don’t remember where, I just noticed it had gone. I like to think it is still out there, being lost and found and bringing some joy to the wearer.
That last sentence - you should write a story about all the adventures of that ring and which way it was worn.

I've found a couple of things but only one in public.

  1. mobile phone in the days they were expensive, found in my car. I phoned round friends who had been in the car and got zilch. The battery was dead so I put the sim in my phone and dialed the number labelled 'Dad'.

It turned out weeks before I'd stopped because I'd seen a broken down car and a distressed woman, I'd told her to get into my car as it was safer than the road and it turned out her phone was out of battery so she used mine to call the AA but said she was fine to wait. She's dropped the phone and it not having a battery couldn't ring it.

She came to pick it up with a few cans of beer for me.

  1. I'd just got into my hotel room in Santiago de Chile, I don't speak Spanish, this is relevant.

I was looking for something in my handbag and I found someone's door key.

This was the day after there was a big scare over a plan to blow up transatlantic planes so flights out of Britain had banned hand luggage and all airports were on high alert so in Mendoza, getting on my flight they had taken everything out of people's hand luggage and repacked it so the key was probably for someone on my flight.

Anyway I was only spending 2 nights so I handed it in back at the airport when I was checking in I only waited because of my non existent Spanish.

  1. Outside my living room window, a rather expensive looking smart phone and a beer glass! That's currently with the police.
