I love reading threads like these and couldn't see one for today?

Children have been on a forest school thing this morning with DH

We had food shopping delivery so just put all that away

Just wandered down to the village to get a joint for tea, got beef brisket so just put that in the slow cooker now and planning a roast. So roast beef, potatoes, Yorkshire's, cauliflower cheese, brocolli and carrots. And horseradish sauce of course.

Going to rush round a bit now doing uniforms etc thankfully we have a tumble dryer and just generally tidying up then hopefully a garden afternoon for us all we have a greenhouse so easy to get out in the rain. I've bought some autumn bedding so want to get that potted up. Also hoping to get a propagator set up indoors but my son quite fancies doing that.

Children are also asking to make blackberry jam we have a glut of blackberries in the freezer but I think that might have to be another days job.

Hopefully bath when children are asleep and glass of red while catching up on some tv

All in all a lovely Sunday!

@badlydrawnbear

DH died very unexpectedly on Thursday. Today DC and I went to visit MIL, we came back and my mum is here cleaning the house again. I am supposed to be clearing up his computer desk, DC are playing with my sister. Later we are going to my brother’s for dinner, then I have to attempt to put DC to bed, probably in my bed again. And just put one foot in front of the other and not break down.
I am so sorry for you loss, definitely take everything one step at a time Flowers

A hour of language learning later on. I went to church today and went shopping afterwards for bread and ham. Then I came back, napped and now about to eat a early dinner.

Actually quite a productive Sunday for me do far. Painting over a feature wall in bedroom so did first coat of proper paint on that earlier. Was teal colour and movdf in recently. Took 2 coats of white to cover which I did on Friday
Just baked a homemade blackberry and apple pie for pud later, and half some pork in roasting. Both ds have been playing on switch, or watching you tube videos of others doing minecraft for most of the morning. Then dh will prep pots and veg for tea whilst I go do 2nd coat of paint and then shower. Just want to get that wall done, then finish rest of the room when boys are at school.
Then think we will watch the final of lego masters Australia after tea!

And drink some wine. Maybe start watching vigil on iplayer

@badlydrawnbear so sorry, hope you have some support. Gives us some perspective Thanks
Started the day with a dog walk, washing, dishwasher, tidying up. I have a virtual (internal) job interview tomorrow so am preparing for that, in between other bits & bobs. Wishing I'd not applied in a way as unlikely to get it but I need to demonstrate I'm still in the game & also the experience is always useful.

Cheered by DS getting a negative PCR test result this morning, he's now out with mates. It's sunny here today so we've had a nice lunchtime dog walk in the moors, guaranteeing some peace & quiet for a few hours.
DH is working.
Cooking slow cooked beef to serve with mash & veg tonight, to set us all up well for a busy week ahead. Will watch Vigil this evening, I'm enjoying that, love a Sunday evening thriller.

I'm so sorry for your loss @badlydrawnbear. That must be too much to bear Flowers

Been a quiet day here. Cleaning for me, sports club for the boy and DH as taxi driver/responsible adult.

Decorated a birthday cake
Tea, showers etc to follow.

Sorry for your loss @badlydrawnbear

Take care of yourself

Dollywilde · 19/09/2021 15:38

So sorry @badlydrawnbear, thinking of you.

I was away yesterday night with my sister so travelled home this morning via McDonalds for a McMuffin as is tradition Smile got back and DD (1) was napping so had a chat with DH. DD then woke up so we went to DFS to look at a new sofa (riveting stuff I know) then came home, I gave DD lunch and DH went to the supermarket. Had our own lunch and did some playtime/tidying up rotation. About an hour ago DD went down for her afternoon nap and DH went for a run so I am currently lazing in the bath. Am currently 7 weeks pregnant so trying to get downtime where I can! DD will wake up in a sec then it’ll be a quietism evening with calls to the parents and in-laws I think. Having a cheat evening with an oven pizza as I couldn’t face a roast today.

TheChild · 19/09/2021 15:50

Took DD(8) to trampolining this morning, washing on the clothes horse and a bit of uniform to iron tonight. Lunch, baked a seeded banana and apricot loaf cake and then had a bike ride to the local park, fairy spotting and troll hunting. I had hoped to pick some blackberries so I could make a crumble but none were quite big enough.

Now we're back home, DDs are tasting the cake (👍) and DP is making a loaf of bread. We'll be having a Sunday dinner soon, then it's baths and bed for the kids and I'll hopefully have a few hours to chill or read Harry Potter.

embolass · 19/09/2021 16:16

Enjoying a wine outside for what must be one of the few last days to do so as slight chill in air now 🙁
2loads of washing out drying, and will start dinner soon, duck breasts with a blackberry sauce a la Phil Vickery. Made it on This Morning few weeks back and it looked lovely.
Sort uniforms , work bag and food for tomorrow, quick tidy up of house before wine watching Vigil, then bed zzzz

@badlydrawnbear I’m so sorry for your loss Flowers

DS1 wanted to make pancakes for everyone for breakfast so we did and then after breakfast DS1 and Ds2 helped me bake cupcakes using just new Kmix (they taste amazing). DS2 is autistic and loves watching the mixer
DH played tea parties with our DD 😁

Went for a walk and lunch out to our fave little cafe. They do the best all day brunch going.

Am back home to ice cupcakes … kitchen resembles bomb site by the end of it all.
Ds2 & Dd now playing toys / DS1 one is back on fortnite

DH is off to his not so secret or outing hobby of NFL fantasy football with his mates tonight so the kids and I are making fake away Singapore noodles and crispy pork

I spied the new series of all creatures great and small on our sky planner so will indulge in that once kids are in bed

MrsDThomas · 19/09/2021 16:57

Went up yr Wyddfa this morning, then a quick walk after lunch, and now cooking a beef dinner with a glass of red.

misslomi · 19/09/2021 17:04

We had our nephew to stay last night so up early this morning. Played some games and ate crumpets for breakfast, off to the park for an hour or so then back home for ice cream.

It's my nans birthday so we went out for a roast dinner to celebrate, ate too much so had a lie down for an hour and just jumped in the bath for a relaxing soak.

Will probably have more crumpets for dinner and watch a film on Netflix.
