I love reading threads like these and couldn't see one for today?

Children have been on a forest school thing this morning with DH

We had food shopping delivery so just put all that away

Just wandered down to the village to get a joint for tea, got beef brisket so just put that in the slow cooker now and planning a roast. So roast beef, potatoes, Yorkshire's, cauliflower cheese, brocolli and carrots. And horseradish sauce of course.

Going to rush round a bit now doing uniforms etc thankfully we have a tumble dryer and just generally tidying up then hopefully a garden afternoon for us all we have a greenhouse so easy to get out in the rain. I've bought some autumn bedding so want to get that potted up. Also hoping to get a propagator set up indoors but my son quite fancies doing that.

Children are also asking to make blackberry jam we have a glut of blackberries in the freezer but I think that might have to be another days job.

Hopefully bath when children are asleep and glass of red while catching up on some tv

All in all a lovely Sunday!

@Dressbitch
Sorry you feel rough. Hope you feel better soon.
Bless DS for getting you his blanket. That is so sweet. 💐

DinkBoo · 19/09/2021 13:43

My day looked so embarrassing, that I have now cleaned and treated a leather satchel that really needed doing. Grin

It really is a bugger being tied to the front room (our doorbell is only audible from here).

MsAwesomeDragon · 19/09/2021 13:45

I've been mostly in bed feeling crap with covid. DH and both dds have been out for covid tests, which I'm expecting to come back positive as well. So that's a nice fun Sunday.
At some point I'll have to think about cover work to send in for my classes for tomorrow. Not sure what I can set that will be meaningful as I haven't had much of a chance to teach them anything yet.

Went collecting sea glass on the beach this morning followed by a picnic on a bench for the little ones, then a Thai lunch and a beer for me and the other half. Now TV/naps for the babies before going back to the beach this afternoon for a swim in the sea. Then maybe a little red wine later as well. Gorgeous day

Cherrysoup · 19/09/2021 13:47

Big food shop, dog walk, bought new pillows at Dunelm, picked the runner beans for tea.

I’m going to buy shavings then off to the yard to catch in the horse and feed him, then I need to water the veg patch and put down some weed suppressant material on a newly dug area.

I’m going to have baked potatoes, cod in sauce with runner beans for dinner. I need to make packed lunches for tomorrow and put away the washing.

Mermaidpool · 19/09/2021 13:47

We had rugby this morning, prepped sausage casserole in the slow cooker now off for a walk on the beach

Susannahmoody · 19/09/2021 13:48

Kids are playing with new marble run.
I'm having coffee and bracing myself for the day.
Got a new park to visit this morning, then swimming this afternoon.
Portuguese chicken for dinner, with cubed sautéed potato and veg.

Youcancallmeval · 19/09/2021 13:53

Happy birthday @NoWigNoWit enjoy a day in the hot tub.
I'm lolling around as have an epic hangover after going out with friends last night and getting carried away. It's chucking down though so I feel justified in doing nothing. Potentially a laksa type thing for dinner and I have 2 letters to write if I can summon the energy.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 19/09/2021 13:59

We were supposed to be attending ds’s football tournaments and then a walk around the Lake District however I am poorly with the lurgy.

I had minor surgery on Wednesday and I thought I was just run down however looks like I have the Flu/cold bug virus going around which has went into my chest and more than likely I’ve got pneumonia, which as an asthmatic is hell on earth.

I tried to make Sunday dinner for us all however poor dh found me on the kitchen floor Blush

Dh has made Sunday dinner (roast chicken with all the trimmings) while I’m on the sofa catching up on master chef.

Ds’s have went to their tournament with FIL while dh has been waiting on the phone for 43mins and counting... trying to get me an emergency GP appointment.

PrincessMaryaBolkonskaya · 19/09/2021 14:01

I didn’t sleep at all last night so gave up and came down to the sofa at about 5am, promptly managed to fall asleep until 9 so have felt really groggy all day.

Gonna watch the football, easy one tin meal for tea, then book until an early night with 🤞🏼 sleep as a have a long week coming up.

Pheebs2021 · 19/09/2021 14:01

Coffee, blankets, pork dinner, and candles... I love autumn weather!

icedcoffees · 19/09/2021 14:02

Early start for me as I had to pop out and do a cat visit (I'm a pet sitter).

So alarm went off at seven, I sorted my own cats, let the dog out, vacuumed, put laundry on, showered, did my cat visit and was back home with a mug of coffee by 8am.

Sounds very productive and wholesome but I've barely moved since Grin

I've had a busy week and I'm out all day tomorrow on cat visits and dog walks, and I have a riding lesson straight after work so I'm making the most of the peace and quiet!

ParkheadParadise · 19/09/2021 14:02

Still in my jammies.
DH has done to the gym. Dd is trying and failing to paint my toenails 😂 with pink glittery polish.
Having Steak Pie, Mashed potatoes, Roast potatoes, and veg for dinner. Chocolate cake and ice cream to follow.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 19/09/2021 14:06

I love these threads. Just back home from a weekend away in Sheffield so a two hour drive done. Picked up bits from M&S on the way back so food is sorted out. Washing is on. Having a cup of tea on the sofa watching the football then I’ve got a bit of tidying to do and prep for another working week (my third week of hybrid office/home working this week). Later we’ll have nice easy cheese and biscuits for dinner followed by an M&S chocolate choux bun!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 19/09/2021 14:08

We were out early this morning (for a Sunday) for DS to have a trial at a new football club so sat out in the drizzle for an hour with DD watching from the sidelines.
The food shop has arrived and been put away and we're just back from my lovely auntie's house after a well overdue catch up.
I now need to sort uniform for school tomorrow and generally tidy up a bit. I'm hoping the kids will entertain themselves and maybe watch a film, I'll cook a roast for later and maybe I'll get five minutes with a cuppa too!

TheQueenOfDreams · 19/09/2021 14:14

I’ve done 2 loads of laundry today, did a bit of cleaning, peeled potatoes and marinated chicken all ready for dinner and been for a walk.
I’ll pick up ds from football, nag him to do his homework and sort out uniform.
Dd is watching How To Train Your Dragon after spending the morning in the garden.
I need to get some work done this afternoon and I want to relax with a book for a while. I’ll do that later while dinner is cooking and dc play minecraft.

JemimaMuddledUp · 19/09/2021 14:17

Went for a 3 mile walk along the beach first thing, then came home and ate breakfast.

Cooked a roast: pork, stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and gravy followed by apple crumble. It is DS1's last Sunday at home before he goes to university so I wanted to do a real roast.

This afternoon I'm going to sort out one of the raised beds in the garden as the spinach is going to seed now and the beans have pretty much finished. Then am going to read my book.

Silkiescatz · 19/09/2021 14:20

DD just tested positive for covid on pcr yesterday after 3 negative lfts.

I have covid symptoms and fairly certain I have it. DH asked what I want for lunch and I had to explain its all the same to me as everything tastes of nothing.

DS is sniffling so not sure if he is coming down or has got a cold and he's asd, he is accepting lemsips at least.

DH on his third week of being ill, tested negative though, he has cleaned the silkie chickens house out and he is making lunch. Our fridge is broken so he is supposed to get a no-contact click and collect coca-cola mini fridge as only one in stock and we can't have anyone in to repair the other one.

Will be messaging about schools and electrician. The highlight of my day is watching the numbers on the oximeter. Though we may try our new robot hoover if any of us can move enough to clear the floor and switch it on so not too optimistic. DD did say she would make banana bread then decided that maybe noone would want covid banana bread.

I've folded and put away three loads of laundry. I've no housework to do aside from that, I follow TOMM so it's all done during the week. So I made pancakes for breakfast, weeded the drive, harvested a tonne of basil for the freezer (and some for the chickens), made out my to-do list for the week, cuddled kittens, watered all the houseplants, cuddled kittens again, and put dinner on.

DH is painting the garage, the poor guy. It's breezeblocks and a pain in the face to paint. He's doing really well though, hasn't complained at all.

DD has done some work on painting my sister's Christmas present and is now on the couch, cuddling kittens.

DS has been alternating between the trampoline and his favourite armchair with a book so far, and is now doing his part of the Christmas present painting. I believe he may have cuddled kittens at some point also.

The ferrets are snoozing in the sun after having a very energetic play on the patio earlier.

The chickens are sunbathing very contentedly.

I love sunny September Sundays.

Jduh · 19/09/2021 14:37

DH took DD1 to gymnastics this morning whilst I played puzzles and 'putting babies to bed' with DD2.
Pancakes for lunch.
Then whilst DD2 napped I did Rainbows badge activities with DD1.
We'll probably watch a film in a bit and I'll cook dinner.

BobsBurgersisthebest · 19/09/2021 14:48

Your roast sounds amazing Op. I'm jealous! I got everything but potatoes, so roast is tomorrow instead.

We're having a pretty chilled afternoon. Bathed my children early. They're watching elsa and Anna on YouTube. I'm chilling but need a shower. Ready for my 3rd night shift tonight. Spaghetti bol for dinner tonight and a chocolate trifle. 🙊

FindingMeno · 19/09/2021 14:48

Been in bed most of the day with a really crap cold that has already got the rest of the family and I thought I'd swerved.
Currently eating chicken nuggets and drinking lemsip.

iklboo · 19/09/2021 14:51

Get well soon all the poorly people.

I've just dug out our vinyl records while DH & DS are out. 80s Electronic at the minute. Reliving me yoof.

badlydrawnbear · 19/09/2021 14:56

DH died very unexpectedly on Thursday. Today DC and I went to visit MIL, we came back and my mum is here cleaning the house again. I am supposed to be clearing up his computer desk, DC are playing with my sister. Later we are going to my brother’s for dinner, then I have to attempt to put DC to bed, probably in my bed again. And just put one foot in front of the other and not break down.

SoloISland · 19/09/2021 15:01

@SoloISland

SAd and the CFS/ME are ….. Managed to light the fire, reheat food make the bed and fall into it. Not usually this bad so early in the season and feel appalling. Chickenbreast, carrots. noodles. All precooked and heated and gravy.

Refuse to close down before three but may have to . But the place is warm

Made it to three with the help of MN so now to bed and sleep.. Good night and have a lovely evening wherever and whatever.
