Very salty crisp recommendation?

I’m dying for some very salty crisps and all the crisps seem to be flavourless new and improved lately. Can anyone recommend some good salty ones, preferably salt and vinegar?

Ones I’ve tried that are no good anymore: Pringles (these used to burn my tongue with salt and are now bland??), Kettle Chips, Walkers, Chipsticks

Thanks Smile

My husband is getting the co-op ones on his way home from work, hopefully they have them!

Another vote for the Co-op ones. So amazing. Though you can’t taste anything for the rest of the day after eating them! My mouth is watering at the thought of them.

Lidl Deluxe salt and Suffolk? Cider vinegar are very good

plodalong12 · 16/09/2021 18:04

I think Squares and Discos have gone downhill from when I remember them as a child. They used to be so salty and nice.

And sorry to hijack your thread OP, but WTF has happened to pretzels and those stick things you used to get in a box at Christmas? They were SO nice, covered in rock salt, and so nice and crunchy and addictive, now they are hardly salted and taste like cardboard. Does anyone know where to get the still salty ones?

BarefootHippieChick · 16/09/2021 18:07

Food manufacturers are shit now, we're not allowed to eat anything with salt or sugar 😒 I scoff peanuts to get my salt fix!

Galaxyinmypocket · 16/09/2021 18:09

Pop chips are delicious

LondonTTC · 16/09/2021 18:10

Coop own brand sea salt and Chardonnay vinegar. Burn your tongue off!

These are amazing. They strip a layer of skin off the roof of your mouth they're that salty.

I like to press each crisp between my lips before I eat them, then lick the salt off my lips.

I'm not that keen on Popchips, they have a strange texture.

MrMeSeeks · 16/09/2021 18:14

Discos. All the ones i’ve had burns the nerves off your tongue.
I miss the pickled onion flavour Sad

No wonder our co op always runs out, with all these bloody mumsnetters buying them up!

ScrambledSmegs · 16/09/2021 18:18

Thé best salt for adding to crisps is Diamond Crystal kosher salt. It sticks to all foods, brilliantly.

It's salt for koshering, I buy it from Amazon and use it in place of table salt. You don't need as much because of the extreme saltiness.

These crackers are delicious and quite salty.

teamNegan blame this lot on here 😁 To be fair they restock pretty quickly!

Jubilate · 16/09/2021 18:43

If you like rice crackers, Home Bargains do a salt and vinegar version (rice thins) that cause the roof of my mouth to peel off if I eat too many in one sitting
