I've just watched Boiling Point and he's just amazing. Every role he plays he's so convincing and mesmerising to watch. In all the interviews I've watched with him he always comes across as such a nice bloke. I'll be very upset if someone comes on to say he's actually a twat in real life!

I think he really is lovely in RL. His Desert Island Discs demonstrates that loud and clear. He is blissfully in love with his wife and sees her as his saviour. He also happens to be a phenomenal talent.

I love him.

He was in the year above me in school and even though l didn’t mix in his group, he was a nice lad. He picked up my bag for me when some boys in my year were throwing it about and l remember being really upset and he told me not to worry they will be teasing someone else tomorrow, he probably wouldn’t remember but just picking my bag up and handing it to me was the kindest thing anyone had done for me in days. I imagine if he was a nice kid he will be a nice adult.

My neighbour knows his parents professional though not Stephen himself. She says they are down to earth genuine people. No scouser coming from that background would be allowed to get up their own backside, so I believe the good guy reports about him

How lovely! It’s always nice to hear things like this about people you admire.

Dig out his Desert Island Discs episode on R4 - you will love him even more.

JoyDivisionOvenGlovesx · 09/09/2021 09:15

By all accounts, the guy is up there with Bob Mortimer and Michael Palin for Nicest English Bloke.

And yes, so incredibly talented.

Sssloou · 09/09/2021 09:16

Whoops sorry cross posted

Hemingwaycat · 09/09/2021 09:29

He’s one of the finest actors of all time, definitely one of the best British actors. Sounds like a truly lovely guy too.

GreekMIL · 09/09/2021 09:32

I read on his Wikipedia that he's going to be in the next series of Peaky Blinders! I think most of my favourite actors have been in it at some point.

Loved him in The Virtues and Line of Duty
This is England was a tough watch

He reminds me & dd of my DP (but shorter) so I enjoy perving at Stephen Graham

Desertislanddiscs · 09/09/2021 12:20

Amazing actor, admired him for years. ❤️

User135644 · 09/09/2021 12:26

@WinoAnon

Hadn't heard of this! Will look it up.

His work rate is unreal. There are spells where it feels like he's in everything but I think it's also because he picks roles in the kind of stuff I like to watch!

He likes to work in gritty, realistic dramas. Good piece in the Guardian recently previewing his next drama: www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2021/aug/22/jodie-comer-and-stephen-graham-on-friendship-football-and-their-new-care-home-drama-help

Big Stephen Graham fans in this house. Since watching The Virtues my teenage DDs can’t see him without going Awwww. Grin

KnightonShiningArmour · 09/09/2021 12:32

I once saw him at St Pancras station the morning after his CBeebies Bedtime story was shown. I got all star struck and gave him a little wave and he gave me a big smile and a little wave back.

I have a friend who has met him through mutual friends and have been told he’s a lovely bloke.

PestoOnToast · 09/09/2021 12:33

I'm not sure how to phrase this but I get good vibes from him because he has an 'appropriate wife' and a 'normal marriage'.

What I mean is that I get good vibes from famous average-looking, middle-aged men who are married to average-looking, middle-aged women, and seem in a genuine 'partnership' with them. Like normal humans.

See: Stephen Graham, Tom Hanks, Ricky Gervais.

Plus, I think he's very sexy.

EishetChayil · 09/09/2021 12:34

He is such a good actor! My DH is a huge fan of his.

Unfashionable · 09/09/2021 12:37

@midsomermurderess

And great friends with Leonardo Di Caprio apparently. Doesn't he and his family live in a village in Leicestershire, when he's not off filming? Living an ordinary, non-starry life.
Yes, he lives near Coalville which as anyone who has ever been there knows, is probably the last place in the country you would expect an actor of his stature, and presumably wealth, to live.
MummyJ12 · 09/09/2021 12:43

He’s awesome. Love him! He has had a big part in Jodie Cromer’s career too in that he spotted her talent early on and got her in with his agent. Looking forward to seeing them in Help together next week.

KnightonShiningArmour · 09/09/2021 12:46

There’s some lovely countryside and very pricey properties around Ibstock where he and his family live.

ThisIsTrifficult · 09/09/2021 13:29

My cousin has bumped into him (local to them) so many times I think they're FB buddies now! 😂

AuntieMarys · 09/09/2021 13:40
