Aldi favourites thread!

Despite shopping at Aldi for years I keep discovering new products.

This week it's cheesy hash browns (filled with cheese! A meal in themselves) and sea salt and lime tortilla chips- Both delicious.

Also over the summer, I discovered the specially selected sea salt and caramel ice cream stick were a particular hit. And the zx cola and Pringle dupes are better that the origjnals.

What are your favoured Aldi treats that I need to try next?

All the white wines are nice
The Pringles
Fake kinder buenos
Can't think of anything I don't like to be honest

mug2018 · 06/09/2021 16:18

Vegan salted caramel ice cream ... I'm not vegan but this the nicest ice cream ever Smile

MenaiMna · 06/09/2021 16:29

150g regional English cheeses: Lancashire, Cheshire, double Gloucester. Made by Dewlay and very nice for the price.

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 06/09/2021 16:38

Their roast beef joints are always good for the price

MargotMoon · 06/09/2021 17:22

Blood Orange IPA

Ridge Valley tonic water - can't taste any difference between their 6 cans for £1.99 compared to 8 cans of fever tree for £3.99

One Pots - esp the Moroccan chicken tagine and Thai red veg curry, so handy after a long day when I cba to cook but want something a a bit balanced rather than get a takeaway

Beef and horseradish crinkle cut crisps

Organic red wine and prosecco

All of the 'posh' filled pasta I've tried has been lovely - think there was a pumpkin and pine nut one they did last autumn, hope it makes a return

Gliblet · 06/09/2021 17:32

Meatsters - less greasy than pepperami

Pork and apple sausages

Moser Roth chocolates (especially the raspberry one)

'Gourmet' sea salt or rosemary cheese crackers

Prosecco superiore

Cinnamon buns

Salmon fillets - the piri piri ones are particularly nice

Cheeses - especially the goats cheese and the camembert

Farmhouse yoghurts in little glass pots with lemon curd

And their filled tortellini and stir-in pasta sauces are gorgeous and great to keep in the cupboard as emergency dinners.

The French cheese, especially Comte.
The beef and horseradish crinkle cut crisps.
Also never had a bad bottle of wine from Aldi.

Very retro I know but I’ve just cracked open a Chilean Chardonnay wine box
Very nice 🥂
We have a superstore that opened a few weeks ago it’s fab, air conditioned spacious
love Aldi
And thanks for all the suggestions

BeaucoupFish · 06/09/2021 19:38

Oh just remembered the raspberry jam & fresh cream Victoria sponges are amazing and £1.49
They’re in the chilled deserts cabinet
And their iced coffee espresso macchiato bottles are wonderful

BigRedBoat · 06/09/2021 19:40

The mini vienetta ice creams on a stick
The chocolate chip brioche loaf
A lot of their own brand cereals are good too

postcardfromme · 06/09/2021 19:41

Greysons gin

SaigonSaigon · 06/09/2021 19:43

I recently loved their frozen king chicken kebab (lemon and herb one) - £4.99 but haven't found it since. Only the peri peri one. Clearly everyone agrees with me! I'd never have picked that up but someone recommended it and I can see why. Delish.

Heartbeats0708 · 06/09/2021 19:46

Skimmed quickly and will come back but so glad someone has recommended the Thai red curry kits, they are truly tasty. The pad Thai kit tastes nice but inauthentic.
DC like the fake pom bears better than real ones, and I like the skincare.

cherrypiepie · 06/09/2021 19:56

How could I forget the seasalt pretzel chocolate!

And the specially selected orange juice 'with bits'.

What about all the cleaning sprays at 76p? The shower shine is really effective and they sell Wyx products in mine for 99p

BeaucoupFish · 06/09/2021 20:12

Agree about the £14.99 haysmiths gin and the little dupe fever tree tins of tonic too

MrsArrison · 06/09/2021 20:49

They do a blonde chocolate bar with Himalayan salt which is to die for, and their Lacura Vitamin C glow toner is amazing.

HarrisMcCoo · 06/09/2021 20:52

Strawberry and rhubarb jam.

notelegant · 06/09/2021 21:07

Greek yoghurt - especially the Salted Caramel one.

Moser Roth chocolate, especially mint.

Salmon Wellington

Lacura Rose Water micellar water

Lacura Lavender bedtime face spray

Never had a bad wine from Aldi

Small tins of cider and vodka cocktail

Magnum dupe ice cream

Halloumi burgers

Three Fish Roast

Own brand laundry and cleaning products

Brioche rolls

I love Aldi!

Quirrelsotherface · 06/09/2021 21:24

Salmon wellington
Toro Loco red wine
The posh jersey style milk (makes awesome hot chocolate)
The ready made Chinese stir fry mix
Rocky road in a tub
Almond butter

notelegant · 06/09/2021 21:29

Forgot to mention Norpak - Lurpak equivalent but much cheaper.

Small potted desserts e.g. lemon posset, chocolate mousse.

Sticky Toffee Pudding or Chocolate Sponge

notelegant · 06/09/2021 21:31

Powerforce Bleach - super effective, does the job in loos without needing to scrub, and cheap.

MargotMoon · 06/09/2021 23:26

@postcardfromme

Greysons gin

Yes! The grapefruit and orange one is amazing, the mandarin and lime is great too

cariaaad · 07/09/2021 00:07

Recently bought Aldi fake biscoff ice creams on a stick. OMG!

cjoycey3 · 07/09/2021 00:12

The tempura chicken mini fillets from the fresh food section
Taste like a less crap chicken dipper
