Shower at night?

Do you shower before bed and then not in the morning?
I'm trying to streamline our mornings and saw on another thread that some people shower at night not morning. This would fit in I think but in thinking it's a bit strange to go to work not showered that day? Will try it this week but does anyone do it and feel clean and put together in the morning?

Yeah I look like a Yeti if my hair dries naturally!

You still have to style it before you leave the house... Hmm I straighten mine

ThePontiacBandit · 07/09/2021 07:56

No if it’s dried naturally it will not sit straight like if would if it was blow dried first. It wants to be wavy.

StarlightLady · 07/09/2021 08:30

I shower or bath morning and night.

Bancha · 07/09/2021 08:36

I always shower at night. I hate the idea of getting into bed dirty. Think it partly comes from having jobs where I go into other people’s houses (often quite grotty houses, sadly) though I do less of that now. Sometimes I felt so grimy I used to take my clothes off the moment I got through the door, put them straight in the machine, and go to shower without touching anything! If I feel sweaty at night I have a quick shower in the morning but I don’t often need to.

DadOfTheMoment · 07/09/2021 08:42

I was always a morning showerer but changed when I met my wife.

Girlintheframe · 07/09/2021 08:49

I love an evening shower.
As PP have said, I hate the thought of getting into bed 'dirty'.

PersonaNonGarter · 07/09/2021 08:58

I shower mornings, DH showers at night.

DH often does a lot of physical work during the day and has to shower at night or the bed sheets would be gross. Plus then he is up and out very quickly in the morning which is great for animals/pets he is dealing with.

I have a desk job so I shower in the mornings to look smart for the day ahead.

People get weirdly obsessed with showering - like it’s mandated from God or something.

icelollycraving · 07/09/2021 08:58

I always shower at night and leave my hair to dry overnight. I then straighten it in the morning.
I wash my pits and bits in the morning. I get up at 530, haven’t got time to wash and dry my hair first thing. Also the sound of a hairdryer that early is a bit off on others.

Personally I can't bear not showering or bathing in the morning, even if I have had a bath or shower right before bed I still feel sweaty and icky in the morning. Often I will do both, especially in the winter because I get really cold feet and hands in the evenings so need a hot bath to warm up, but then also need a shower to feel clean in the morning.

BadLad · 07/09/2021 09:10

Both for me.

Evening to get the day's dirt off and keep the bed clean.

Morning to wake up and also to make sure all the shaving foam has been washed off.

TornadoTrinity · 07/09/2021 09:13

I used to do this when I WOH. I only showered in the mornings if it had been a really hot night and I was a bit sweaty Blush. I am not naturally a sweaty person, so usually I smell pretty clean in the mornings if I shower the night before.

WhiskeyNeverStartsToTasteNice · 07/09/2021 09:16

I shower morning and night. Feel horribly grotty and itchy otherwise.

ChocolateRiver · 07/09/2021 09:20

I only have very quick showers in the morning. If I need to wash my hair, shave legs etc I do it at night. I don’t have time in the morning for things like that.

megletthesecond · 07/09/2021 09:22

Shower every evening here. Clean pj's most nights. I have curly hair that needs to dry naturally.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 07/09/2021 09:38

I used to shower at night but now shower in the mornings. Both worked but I prefer mornings.

Tbh I think if you're showering once a day then that's good. Some people don't even do that but that's another thread...

Ellarain · 07/09/2021 09:43

I always shower late evening. Once the dinner is cooked and cleaned up, school stuff ready, house cleaned and walk or gym done.

OnceTheyDid · 07/09/2021 10:27

I shower last thing at night (unless I'm going out in the evening).

I hate the idea of getting into lovely sheets dirty and also having sex with someone who hasn't showered in 14 hours.

I will often shower twice.

HearMeSnore · 07/09/2021 10:34

Night time for me. I like being able to take my time in the shower. In the morning it's too much of a rush, and someone else always wants the shower at the same time, or they urgently need something from the bathroom as soon as I go in, or they flush the loo downstairs so the pressure dips...

It's nicer once everyone else is in bed. Anyway I seem to sleep better when I feel clean, so I think I'm a permanent convert to bedtime showers. A good wash at the sink in the morning to freshen up is adequate.

TornadoTrinity · 07/09/2021 10:35

A shower then clean PJs then clean sheets is lovely. Especially in the summer.

cannaethink · 07/09/2021 11:03

I do both too. ‘Big’ shower at night to wash hair and shave, then a super quick one in the morning. I tried just washing at the sink with a flannel in the morning but I think it takes the same length of time and isn’t as good!
I hate getting into bed unshowered, and my hair looks better and behaves better if I’ve slept on it.

firstimemamma · 07/09/2021 11:06

I do this and if works great for me. In the morning I wash my face, put deodorant on and quickly sort my hair and make up. In the evening I love a shower or sometimes a bath and it helps me relax before bed.

MrsVeryTired · 07/09/2021 11:10

I sweat badly in bed so have to shower in the morning. If I need to be quick then I don't wash my hair, it usually smells fresh if washed the day (or night) before.
