What am I doing wrong . I read that you you should add some salt and white wine vinegar and stir the water so its like a twister then add the eggs.

The first picture is without salt and white wine vinegar the 2nd picture is with.

@Redsquirrel5 they may look good but they aren't poached eggs! Putting butter in the plastic poacher totally changes the flavour and texture of the egg!

Vinegar but no salt ! And you need Burford Browns Grin

It is only a tiny bit to stop them sticking but I get what you mean. I have done them the other way but prefer the ‘poacher’ (it is sold as that) to hit and miss.
So those putting them in those other pod things aren’t poaching them either because they aren’t in the water. Oh well each to they’re own.

You have the knack Gotthetshirt23! I have Bantam crosses. All black with a green sheen. They lay different coloured eggs- 1 white,1 cream and 1 duck egg blue. At least we know who is laying and who isn’t!

I should stick to scrambled egg then as I ace that!

@NatriumChloride

Poachies are my best friend - you can get them on Amazon. Haven’t looked back since. Life is too short for swirling vortices and slotted spoons and paper towels and ramekins and such.
But surely using another implement which you then have to wash up is far more faff than the second it takes to give the water a quick stir to make a vortex before you crack the egg in?

Extra large eggs, 3m20s in only-just-boiling water.
