Apple Watch SE - questions

I am torn between a Fitbit Versa 3 and Apple Watch.

Can an Apple Watch last a whole day yet? I had the first Apple Watch and it became a pricey paperweight because the battery was awful.

@Lakeshore6 put it on theatre mode, it stops it lighting up every time you move your arm and only wakes when you tap it. It's almost doubled my battery life bafflingly.
