We have;

asparagus with hollandaise
chicken schnitzel with red cabbage and roast potatos
homemade trifle.

I am trying to have a 3 course sit-down Sunday family dinner.

Sausages, mash, carrots, onions and TONS of gravy

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 15/08/2021 18:55

We had a roast vegetable tart and roast green beans. I do three courses if we have a 'proper' Sunday dinner, but I've put those away for now because it's bloody too hot to be cooking full-on roast dinners...

We had fennel, tomato and gruyere bake with garlic green beans and tender stem broccoli and sour dough

Tray bake of chicken thighs, red onions, carrots and potatoes, herbs and a tomato salad.

Apple and strawberry crumble and custard.

BlueLobelia · 16/08/2021 16:41

I've given up today and we are going to the local chip shop for burgers and chicken nuggets.

orangejuicer · 16/08/2021 17:38

Burgers for tea!

LBOCS2 · 16/08/2021 18:46

Breakfast for dinner today! We've got nothing in, but there are always eggs and bacon in the fridge.

VaguelyInteresting · 16/08/2021 18:50

I bought pork kebabs from the butcher, intending to eat them with pitta, salad and humus but couldn’t be arsed so just dipped them in sriracha. DS had “picnic tea”. Grin

I got brown surprise out of the freezer which has turned out to be chilli so I think I will do chilli nachos.

All our local blackberries are still green! I can't see them ripening before end of August here Envy.
Beamur · 16/08/2021 18:55

Pulled pork with rolls, salad and wedges. Fruit salad. Made by my lovely DD.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2021 19:24

Pascha
Ours always seem to be ready mid-August these days. I'm sure it used to be early September when we were kids.

Pascha · 17/08/2021 07:04

That's what I remember too, @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie, but last year we picked loads in late July and by mid August they had mostly all gone.

BlueLobelia · 17/08/2021 10:35

Fajitas tonight. Another 'can;t be arsed' dinner but everyone eats it.

Yesterday we had fish and chips. 😋😋

Tonight I’m making Korean beef short rib stew with rice, Korean fried chicken wings, and a fresh cucumber salad.

Tomorrow we’ve got spaghetti carbonara.

Antinerak · 17/08/2021 14:01

Lunch dinner is potato and leek soup reduced down to a thick curry consistency with about half a loaf of bread

Tea dinner is sweet chili chicken noodles with tonnes of veg and one of the 9 garlic breads Asda delivered us this morning. Possibly cheesecake for pud.

DS2 (10, ADHD, probable ASD) is doing a 'restaurant' tonight. I challenge each of my 3 boys to do this once over the holidays - they plan, shop, cook & serve the meal, with appropriate amounts of help.

For tonight, he has chosen to make veg sticks with salsa dip (shop bought), burgers & chips, then an ice cream mountain (ice cream, berries, whipped cream, marshmallows).

badlydrawnbear · 17/08/2021 15:42

DDs are making dinner today (this will require lots of help from me). They chose jacket potatoes with bacon and cheese, salad and dough balls.

Such a great idea!

We're having jacket spuds, quiche and salad tonight - lazy.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/08/2021 16:02

Salmon and pea risotto tonight, although I currently have Covid so can't taste much! What a waste!

PickAChew · 17/08/2021 16:13

Venison kheema for me and dh, tonight, with rice and roasted cauliflower and the remains of an M&S "Indian snack selection" that I have lurking in the freezer.

Chicken thighs and oven chips for ds2.

The regulation sausage sarnies with a grape starter for Ds1. Both autistic but ds1's diet is slightly less beige than ds2's.
