We have;

asparagus with hollandaise
chicken schnitzel with red cabbage and roast potatos
homemade trifle.

I am trying to have a 3 course sit-down Sunday family dinner.

I have totally lost the will to live with cooking these last few months, after (like everyone) cooking 839585 meals last year. I never know what to buy, what to make or what I want; and we just end up eating crap Blush

roundtable · 15/08/2021 17:12

After being on the chicken pie thread...I'm making chicken pie. With chips and peas after much angst about mashed potatoes, chips or roast potatoes. Grin

MinnieMountain · 15/08/2021 17:14

Sweet and sour “chicken” and rice.
Lemon surprise pudding.

Nothing adventurous. I have some Charlie Big ham's Spanish chicken which I'll be serving with cavalo Nero.

Chinese, off on holiday tomorrow and can’t be bothered to cook

Ofnorman · 15/08/2021 17:17

Roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots, savoy cabbage, sprouts, Yorkshire puddings.

I wasn't going to do a pudding, but now you've got me wondering if I could knock up a syrup sponge cake to have with whipping cream and custard...

smallandimperfectlyformed · 15/08/2021 17:18

I love these threads although I can never normally join in as we have an unexciting round of pasta bake, sausage and mash or sausage and chips! Tonight we are at my mums and having a roast: chicken for them, vegetable fingers for me, roast potatoes, peas, carrots, sweetcorn and sprouts (only me and my mum will eat all of those vegetables- none of my girls will eat peas or sprouts and one won't eat any of them!!)

vampirethriller · 15/08/2021 17:18

Turkey kebabs, salad, yoghurt and chappati. Toddler is having smiley faces and salad because meat is the enemy this week.

Ninkanink · 15/08/2021 17:21

Tonight we’re having roast pork belly with roast potatoes, steamed/sautéed savoy cabbage and carrots with butter and garlic, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and gravy.

Smarshian · 15/08/2021 17:21

Burgers, chips and salad tonight as we are all knackered and have a busy week ahead!

UsernameTaken76 · 15/08/2021 17:28

Roast half leg of lamb, roasted potatoes & parsnips. Steamed runner beans, leeks & leeks. Lots of gravy! Rice pudding is cooking for pudding later after being inspired by another thread

Bloodybridget · 15/08/2021 17:29

Paprika and sour cream chicken (we have sour cream that needs eating), bulgur pilaf (DP greatly overestimated how much bulgur was required for a salad the other day), sweetheart cabbage which I will try to make vaguely interesting (family who stayed with us last week arrived with a whole one). Actually I might rebel and do pappardelle with the chicken instead.
Strrawberries afterwards - yes, you guessed, we have a large quantity left after visitors departed.

emmathedilemma · 15/08/2021 17:31

Roast chicken, potatoes, broccoli, green beans, carrots and all the gravy!!
Will use the rest of the chicken for the next 16 meals ;)

mamaduckbone · 15/08/2021 17:32

We had a proper roast at lunchtime for the first time in ages - roast pork, stuffing, roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots and runner beans, DH's amazing gravy, apple sauce. Pear and raspberry crumble and custard. We had my mum over and drank tea in the garden afterwards, then went for a little Sunday walk through the park.

It was really lovely.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 15/08/2021 17:39

Roast pork, rolled with sage and pork stuffing.
Roast potatoes, green beans, roasted carrots. Proper gravy. Mustard.

I am BEYOND STUFFED.

Stomach currently the size of a planet.

cheeseychovolate · 15/08/2021 17:46

McDonald's

ilovebagpuss · 15/08/2021 17:48

Trying to cook more low processed meals so that usually means traditional sort of food.
Home made mince and veg pasties with roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Also a side of garlic roasted courgette.

ImAddictedToMyPhone · 15/08/2021 17:49

Oh yumm op.

We had a beef stir fry and then a magnum.

Parker231 · 15/08/2021 17:51

Cheese on toast is our standard Sunday evening meal as we always go to the local deli for brunch on Sunday.

BlueLobelia · 15/08/2021 18:41

Well, the Dcs moaned through the asparagus.

Moaned through the main.

And moaned when faced with trifle. So they got vanilla icecream with sprinkles.

Best laid plans and all that. [had visions of appreciative, warm, family dinners the DCs could reminisce about in 20 years on ChildsNet]

Hmm

I am now having a whiskey and soda in front of Countryfile.

We had Salsa Gnocchi from the Speedy Bosh cookbook. We had never had it before. DC2 said she loved it, DC1 agreed that she liked it, so that’s a win.
