Obviously stupid.

I have a cordless electric carpet sweeper, which is great for a quick tidy up. However after around 4 years, the battery went into a huff and refused to charge up.
I ordered a new battery which is due to arrive today, so I plugged the sweeper in to charge so it would be ready to go once my DH had put the new battery in.
Some thirty minutes later, I realised that actually I was charging the dud battery, not the actual sweeper! 😳
Obviously stupid.
Please tell me your obviously stupid moments to make me feel, well, less obviously stupid.

@LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow I once put my keys in the ignition, then faffed about putting my shopping in the boot.
Then spent ages looking for my keys, I even went back into the supermarket to ask if anyone had handed them in.

Frantically searched my bag for my house keys, getting more and more worried I had lost them. Then realised they were in my hand.

@WeatherwaxOn My son once lost his house key, a frantic search found it tucked Inside his sons nappy from where he'd changed it 😂

Washing my hair in the shower yesterday, squirted the shampoo into my hand and then remembered that I’d just shampooed it already. Oh well, a second shampoo wouldn’t harm it.

Squirted conditioner into my hand (feeling slightly smug as had just used up the last of the conditioner that came with the hair colour and had remembered to grab the new bottle of conditioner and take it into the shower with me). Started massaging conditioner into my hair and thought it was a bit frothy.. Checked the conditioner bottle, yep, was a bottle of shampoo, but a different brand to the one I had used earlier! My hair is really clean, but very flyaway!

Having a buffet lunch abroad, I just stopped my husband putting a pile of calamari rings on his plate; he thought they were onion rings, and doesn't eat seafood!

Today's update:

Just went to check if the potatoes were cooked. Turns out I had a pan of boiling water, plus a pile of raw potatoes on the chopping board

@EverybodyIsInteresting I hope the rest of the meal wasn't ruined while waiting for those potatoes 😂

I did the cliched thing of putting the remote control in the fridge when I was pregnant.

Have poured boiling water into the coffee jar instead of my cup a few times.

It's a hideous feeling when the stock you've been simmering for hours goes straight through the colander...and down the drain. I have to mutter 'colander, colander, colander' to myself when preparing to strain it.

I've just turned the microwave on to heat my dinner up only to find at the end I hadn't put the food in the microwave
