My mum used to call me a silly apeth. For years I thought that an apeth was some Middle English word for monkey.

Oh and lick stick for lipstick 💄

I had one that used to say bastard instead of busted!
We also say things are dishless after a good meal, the one that said this instead of delicious, is now 36!

ChessieFL · 14/07/2021 07:15

We still have ‘nicnics’ in our house instead of picnics!

DD also used to say ‘duplekit’ instead of duplicate.

Oh and we don’t go to the Chinese takeaway, we go to the Chinese ordering centre!

PuppyMonkey · 14/07/2021 07:18

DD used to call the kitchen the chicken when little - which has stuck all these years later. Also the utility room was the tivity room. Smile

My younger DD likes skiing. She really wants to try snowboarding, water skiing, surfing.... and waterboarding. She won't have it when we correct her to wake boarding and has told many people she wants to try waterboarding.

As this started when she 7 (now 8), we can't even explain why waterboarding is so wrong...

@TheVolturi

Icelotating for isolating, dd just turned 4, all last year called out Icelotating. Ds when little used to call milkshake shitshake. Yum.
At my nursery a staff member had to self isolate for 10 days and one of the children told their parents the staff member "is ice skating".
