Arsehole neighbours

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 10/07/2021 22:02

Need a moan and I'm beyond fucked off with my neighbours today.
What is wrong with people these days? Why has no one any consideration for their neighbours anymore?

We've had 8hrs (so far - it's still ongoing) of wanky dance music played through a massive sound system. As far as we were aware, it was supposed to be a small kids party. The kids are no older than 10 so surely this shite music isn't what they listen to? It's so loud it's shaking the house.

I have a 1yr old who couldn't nap or go down tonight due to her room being like a disco. It's horrendous. She's been up since 6am so she's causing havoc. The noisy twats have quite a few kids so must know how awful it is when other people stop your kids sleeping but they obviously don't care now that theirs are older.

No advice but so much sympathy OP.

There really is a special place in hell for people who live with absolutely no thought or consideration for their neighbours.

Horrible minky selfish arseheaps.

HalzTangz · 10/07/2021 23:57

Have you popped round to ask them to turn it down

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 11/07/2021 00:02

Any nipping round with polite requests usually receives a sentence ending in off or something rhyming with hunt.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/07/2021 00:03

@HalzTangz I'm not leaving my baby alone in the house while I walk up a field to complain. Although the houses are close, the entrances are not.
We haven't yet spoken to them at all - there was some twatty behaviour from them when we moved in (directed at us) so we've avoided them so far.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/07/2021 00:05

@SheldonesqueTheBstard that's definitely been my experience with previous neighbour.

Wish I'd seen the hose event. Must have been hilarious.

Ooh music volume has lowered. Better not get my hopes up.
Can hear the baby shouting now too so that'll be the rest of my night ruined.

That was after quite a few polite requests (other neighbour had a very poorly child - I’ve elderly folks)

We had both reached peak arsehole.

Hope you settle the little one quickly.

I had this problem once, was immediately solved by blasting O Fortuna (the song associated with the film The Omen) at full volume .

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 11/07/2021 00:23

I’m not sure that would work tavelo 🤔

I reckon Damien begat at least two of the offspring. (The others were probably due to involvement with jackals - though I’ve yet to see them lick their arse clean. Plates yes. Arses? Not in the open)

Lilibet2022 · 11/07/2021 01:38

Wait until their hangovers are kicking in and then start vacuuming with your music on at full blast

Fellow long suffering neighbour of Arsehole NDN here but I'd say please don't do the music. As much as they'd deserve it it's not fair on the other neighbours who could possibly end up enduring it too.
I find an overwhelming urge to suddenly do some garden maintenance is a much better petty but effective tactic. Nothing like a Strimmer going full pelt at 10:30am whilst nursing a hangover. Wink

@FayKnights oh no, rapping attempts are awful to listen to. I feel for you. Hope it didn't go on too long.

The music finally went off at 1am. 11hrs or so after it started Confused. Then their dogs barked for almost an hour.

It was supposed to Chuck it down yesterday from 3pm and instead we got beautiful sunshine all day which just encouraged them to keep the party going. So being stuck inside with the windows closed with the house baking just added to the things pissing me off.

I'm dreading the football being on tonight as one of the neighbours is guaranteed to be a noisy dick, even if last night's knobheads stay quiet. My DP is working again tonight so I'll have a screaming baby to deal with on my own again. Fun.

Is this a regular occurrence OP? Or a one off that it’s gone on so long?

If it happens regularly then I’m with you but if it’s a one off I wouldn’t let myself get so bothered by it

User5827372728 · 11/07/2021 07:19

So being stuck inside with the windows closed with the house baking just added to the things pissing me off.

Why didn’t you go out to the playground or a friends house and enjoy the nice weather?

user1471538283 · 11/07/2021 08:21

Unless you have been through this you cannot understand how much it affects and ruins your health.

It got to the point with my ex neighbors that even being away from them was upsetting because I just couldnt enjoy myself knowing what I was going back to. I would regularly be in tears driving home.

But I agree that noisy neighbors hate noise from others! Our ex neighbors moaned about the noise of someone cutting the grass. Yet their hot tub, loud music and shrieking 10 hours a day every day and parties through lockdown were okay. They also hated being pulled up on it!

I'm so sorry you've moved to this. It is really unlucky.

cbear89 · 11/07/2021 08:38

Absolutely agree with PP about the upset continuing when you are away from arsehole neighbours. I hate being in the house because I hate living next to them, but I hate going out because I get so much anxiety about coming back and whether we'll hear their blaring music as we approach the house. It ruins your life.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/07/2021 08:51

@user1471538283 completely agree. That's how I felt at my previous house. We used to stay out of the house as much as possible but it caused so much anxiety and upset going back because of what was waiting for us when we got back.

Looks like everyone is still there so I'm hoping they sod off and don't put the music back on. My DP is knackered from his night shift so will need to get some sleep before he's back on tonight.

@User5827372728 I don't live anywhere near a park or friends and I don't drive so can't get there.

Sounds awful. You have my sympathy op.

As you say it's shocking how many people have selfish loud neighbours. I don't really think it's as socially unacceptable as it should be. Or that we have good enough systems to deal with it.

I have lovely neighbours now, but I've had shitty ones in the past so I get it.

Neighbours can be dicks. Our old neighbours used to play music until 4am every Sunday night (/Monday morning) during the summer, they’d also build a fire so we couldn’t have our windows open. It was stifling. We moved, but that was the plan anyway. You shouldn’t have to. Was this a one off?

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/07/2021 10:22

@Handsoffstrikesagain we've not been here long and apart from the noise issues there's other reasons why it's not what we hoped for. Plus the house is a money pit it seems. We'd intended to live here for 10yrs, renovate it and move somewhere properly rural.
Unfortunately if we sold now we'd make a loss. We made no profit on the house we sold to buy this one so it would leave us financially screwed and having to buy a much smaller house.

It doesn't bother me not driving. I've always used public transport anyway. Will start to be a problem when the kids start school as it will be too long a walk for them.

I’m not long up.

They finished about 6. I maybe got to sleep just before 8. And they started dribbling out again about 11.

I don’t hate many people. I’m not at all fond of my ex husband. The man who bullied me is worthy of my contempt.

I really really hate this lot.

myfuckingfreezer · 11/07/2021 12:46

Op if it starts up again tonight why not take the screaming baby with you to a) ask the turn it down and b) demonstrated the impact it's having!

GoldenLabbie · 11/07/2021 14:19

I’m wondering you live near me OP? Some people over the back had a huge marquee with flashing lights, loud music and lots of drunken singing. It was quite a bit a way from our house but I could still hear it, god knows what the people living next door to them felt.
