Send help, DD had a danger nap and has just been screaming at me for the last hour. She's shouting teddy bear but she has all the soft toys with her....

Chocolatetrifle · 14/08/2021 21:02

Something in the air tonight, DS2 only just gone asleep after I have pushed him around the living room in the dark in his buggy. Just need to sort DS1 now, so tired....

Chocolatetrifle · 14/08/2021 21:14

Right I'm really fantasising now about when the DS are old enough to take themselves to bed and read themselves to sleep or whatever. Both have been restless fidgets all afternoon.

Hope everyone gets some sleep.

Oh no @chocolatetrifle, sorry you're having a rough bedtime to. DD is finally asleep, DS is bouncing around his room and I'm in bed. I reckon I'll be asleep before he is.

Chocolatetrifle · 14/08/2021 21:29

@Motherofmonsters, glad DD is settled for you. Have a good sleep I'm sure your DS will settle soon.

I'm too tired for any 'me time' or any conversation with DH so just going to go to bed!

Chocolatetrifle · 14/08/2021 21:29

@squishymamma, glad you are feeling a bit better today x

Chocolatetrifle · 14/08/2021 21:31

@squishymamma, but sorry to hear about the wisdom tooth problem, hope it settles for you.

squishymamma · 15/08/2021 05:30

Hope you both got a good night's sleep @Chocolatetrifle and @Motherofmonsters!

DS woke up at 6am and has just been having one long continuous tantrum since...even tried to breastfeed then got really angry that there was no milk left. Is it bedtime yet?

Chocolatetrifle · 15/08/2021 19:55

@squishymamma, hope your DS settled after his morning tantrums?

We've had a quiet day. We've tidied the shed and put the little toddler table and chairs in and going to put some posters in it too. Wondering if it's too much to put some fairy lights in? We went swimming this afternoon.

DS2 (20 months) is mighty pleased with himself as he said 'burp' for the first time, just came out with it just like that, 'burp'!'.

Hope everyone has a decent sleep and everyone settles for bed tonight.

footprintsintheslow · 16/08/2021 03:41

@Chocolatetrifle I think fairy Lights would be perfect, if not two sets.

BeHereNowx32 · 16/08/2021 08:37

@Chocolatetrifle sounds lovely. Fairy lights would make it extra nice.
Burp is a very useful word 😆
That so nice that you got to go swimming. It’s impossible to book swimming in my area just now. Really wishing I had booked DD into swimming lessons, but they’re now fully booked.

@squishymamma hope you got your early night! It’s so hard when they wake up still tired 😴

We braved a little soft play yesteday. DD has a really runny nose and a cough today. But it couldn’t have been from soft play. Too quick! Hopefully it doesn’t come to anything.
Might try and organise her toys etc. I feel like they need some order 🥴

Lostthetastefordahlias · 16/08/2021 08:53

That sounds lovely @Chocolatetrifle might try that myself. How is the sleep @squishymamma? I slept so badly when pregnant, at least afterwards you can generally sleep when the baby permits!
Ds has conjunctivitis today which is always fun. Also is anyone else’s DH under the impression that bags pack & unpack themselves?
Anyway moan over Grin

PinkDaydreams · 16/08/2021 09:17

Sorry for not posting much lately, I have been reading and keeping up to date with the posts though!

Yes yes @Lostthetastefordahlias to bags unpacking themselves, also the kitchen cleaning itself after a big meal!

Anyone else feel like we haven't had much of a summer? We've had a really nice couple of weeks then the rest of the time it's been mainly rain rain rain Hmm

Morning!

@Chocolatetrifle use all the fairy lights! They make everything look magical. It's so cute how they get so pleased with themselves for little things.

@BeHereNowx32 hope your DD feels better soon. I secretly love organising toys, I did a major clearout the other week and hid some toys away with the intention of doing a toy rotation...they still haven't made it back out Grin

@Lostthetastefordahlias totally get that, my DH is generally quite helpful when he sees things need doing but it takes him forever to see it - so he'll happily leave suitcases packed until he desperately needs something from them. He's been absorbed in his phone more than usual recently, seems Reddit has taken over his life, so now it's even worse...

Sleep has been going alright, still wake up here and there but not quite as bad. I think I'm just getting anxious because things are going back to normal and even though we're fully vaccinated and I trust our government, its still scary suddenly being able to do things that were forbidden before. I've also forgotten how to be social Grin

Anyway enough of that. We had a nice day yesterday after the tantrum finally ended, although I had a major fail where we did some water play on the floor (still not sourced a tuff tray) and then I forgot to wipe it up so half an hour later DS slipped and fell hard. He's totally fine but I felt terrible, of course! I've been getting more and more forgetful lately, hate baby brain...

Hope you all have a good day. Any nice plans?

Chocolatetrifle · 16/08/2021 12:52

Hi everyone, I've ordered the fairy lights Smile, want to turn it into a little outdoor play room thing to shelter in from the rain. Also have plans to make a little fairy garden. We have a big old tree in the corner of our house next to an old wall. Someone last year made a fairy garden in a tree that was in our local woods and it looked really nice. So I am going to have a go at sticking some little fairy doors, mushrooms 🍄 etc around our tree from some crafty bits off Amazon. DS1 is excited about the prospect of a fairy garden.

This morning DS1 had preschool and he was brilliant, a slight cry at the door but that was it. We've been reading his preschool books and watching Time for School on iPlayer. It's based on reception starting but DS1 loves it and shows lovely things happening at school etc etc so think we are getting there.

Yes, agree that the summer seems to have passed by, last night felt really autumnal. Hence me thinking about fairy lights. Think it might be getting a bit warmer next week but not sure.

Hope your DD feels better from her cold @BeHereNowx32 and your DS's conjunctivitis gets better soon @Lostthetastefordahlias.

Does anyone else get these food leaflets through with your post? Both my DS like looking through it! Am going to cut it up and thought could use it for playing shop. Plus good for number recognition too!Grin

Son enjoys the Aldi brochures too! We've also made fireworks out of them, basically cut into strips then throw them into the air and shout "whoooooosh bang!" 😂

@PinkDaydreams that sounds like fun! Grin. I'm just here thinking what to do for the afternoon as it's drizzling. I'm looking forward to bedtime already!

Lostthetastefordahlias · 16/08/2021 13:53

We have rain too and it is such a downer isn't it!! So much easier when they can run free in the garden! I fear our afternoon activities might consist of some tv haha.

Motherofmonsters · 16/08/2021 18:29

DS loves a leaflet, he got hold of an orchard games one and kept saying we needed to buy all of the games, I told him we didn't have the money to so when DH came home he told DH he was going to get a job to get some pounds to buy them. He's been talking about going to work ever since.

DD and DS have finally started to play together hurrah except the game involves running around the living room screaming and laughing....

Lostthetastefordahlias · 17/08/2021 18:27

Longest day ever, spent all night vomiting then have had to have just my 3 yr old Dd today (as I probably got it off her) not the 11 month old as well but hell has it been difficult. Can not wait to start again tomorrow!

Lostthetastefordahlias · 17/08/2021 18:29

Hope everyone else has had a better time!! Did you have fun with the leaflets @Chocolatetrifle? I was going to make my own mud kitchen @BeHereNowx32 but the Studio ones look amazing - might treat us when they come back into stock!!

Chocolatetrifle · 17/08/2021 18:49

@Lostthetastefordahlias, oh my, are you ok? That sounds horrible. Poor you. Hope you feel better soon. Hope you can get an early night. It's awful having to look after the kids when you are ill.

We had a look at the leafletGrin, think I might get a collection going ha.

It's been raining here, did a bit of shopping this morning as had to collect curtains for DS2's bedroom as we had a decorator in painting it today. So had to get them out all morning. Took them to Asda cafe, they thought it was fantastic.

Not really done that much this afternoon but we did put the very simple fairy garden together! I'll try to attach a photo. I mixed some glitter up and got the DS's to throw the glitter 'magic' over the fairies.

Looking forward to bedtime again! It feels like summer is drifting away a bit ..

You know when you have no treats in the cupboard and you end up having to eat something random just for the sake of it? Doing the very same with Farley's rusks! Grin
