Broken bond between William and Harry

One of the hardest truths to admit is something negative about yourself. But, if you can admit it, and apologize you can work towards healing. Then, if the injured one accepts apology you have a reestablished bond.

I'm speaking as a mum who has 34 years of 1 successful marriage.I fully believe that Diana raised William and Harry to always have each other's backs. William will one day be King. He will need his brother to talk to. Harry needs to be the one that William can always count on, through thick and thin.

When Princess Diana passed,Charles was quoted as saying" They are going to blame me". One way towards healing is acting forgiving for what happened inthe past. Being a positive role model for healing the brothers bond is showing a positive emotion towards Diana. Being present when they did something together to remember their mothers legacy (Diana statue) is one way. Another way is to be actively in their lives by communication. Keeping the lines of communication open by text, phone calls, zoom meetings etc. Not to mention, visiting in person!

People are human, and we all make mistakes. But at the end of the day, nothing is as important as family. Harry and Meghan have some apologizing to do. And William and Charles need to be accepting. It will not be easy, because admitting mistakes never is. To have a family in tact is the real key to happiness.

But at the end of the day, nothing is as important as family

People that say this have lovely supportive families where the biggest drama is a child free wedding.

People that have addiction, abuse, neglect, mental health problems and just general wankerism in their families know that this isn't true.

@thecognoscenti

I really don't understand why some people feel the need to click on a thread, the title of which makes it fairly clear what it's going to be about, only to announce that they have NO INTEREST in the topic and that the OP must be SUCH A SADDO to be writing about it. Just ignore it and go about your day FFS.
Yes, people do like to show how far above it all they are, don't they? They're sat reading Proust in the original or thinking up new cancer treatments in their spare time, I imagine
TheSunShinesBrighter · 02/07/2021 18:24

@2bazookas

Is that you, Meghan?
I was just thinking the same! 🤪

Your post is very presumptuous. Just because you are a mother and your marriage has lasted, doesn't mean you know anything about someone else's family.

If you have a happy family life it's easy to say 'nothing is more important than family'. Some peoples' families are very toxic and hurt them more than they bring happiness.

TheSunShinesBrighter · 02/07/2021 18:27

Or maybe the OP is Queen Oprah herself!

Emanchego · 02/07/2021 18:30

"How do you even know they fell out with each other - what do Megan and Harry have to apologise for?"

Hmm🥴

grapewine · 02/07/2021 18:33

@TheVampiresWife

Some families are shit and you're better off out of them. That's just a general observation, not one about the RF, because I know fuck all about them. And neither do you, OP.
👏👏
Viviennemary · 02/07/2021 18:40

A big falling out between brothers or other siblings isn't that uncommon. Its just this one is played out in front of the media. I think Harry has behaved badly. And it makes it worse it is all now in the public eye for us all to see. Time will tell if there is a reconciliation.

ScottsThots · 02/07/2021 18:51

@Nesbo

For fucks sake why do people get so deeply invested in the ins and outs of relationships they know nothing about. The world is full of families having their own dramas, and the only people who really know what is going on are the people directly involved.

It’s just…fetishistic. They are people, shitting and farting and arguing and screwing and bumbling along through life like the rest of us. Why give a shit?

My thoughts exactly. OP's speech was such a reach given they don't even know them personally. We all have our own families to worry about 😂🤣
StillCalmX · 02/07/2021 18:52

@Chocaholic9 yes, I agree. I was brought up to be close to my family but it was more like I was summonsed to take the role of daughter but denied any real voice or communication within the family.

This is no offence to the OP she could run rings around me in the EQ stakes for all I know, but I think if I'd been less aware, I wouldn't have seen this.

It takes some hardships to teach you what erodes you, what depletes you, what serves you. I've learnt, embarrassingly recently given that I'm 51 that my mum and dad use me to feel powerful and clever and stable.

It's all their narrative. i need to take a step back because their narrative is The Truth to them and it makes them very angry if I even tentatively suggest that I have my own narrative.

It does erode my sense of myself right now to be around my parents who do not care if they've hurt me, get angry with me for daring to suggest that it's possible, angry that I'm not more grateful, martyred because of everything I've put them through. It's just so so invalidating and I need to work on my forcefield a bit before I can even go back to talking about the garden.

peboh · 02/07/2021 18:56

Cool. It's always interesting to get the perspective of someone who very clearly understands every single families dynamic. I certainly don't. Thanks for sharing.

randomkey123 · 02/07/2021 18:57

I'm NC with my sister, and whilst I appreciate that there will be situations in future where we have to be together, I sure as hell will smile politely, engage in polite chit chat and be counting the seconds until I can get away. Once a sibling bond is broken, I don't see how it can be repaired.

My sister takes great pleasure in throwing poisoned arrows........ pretty similar to Harry, I'd imagine. And life is far simpler when you stop engaging, and grey rock. I have a huge amount of respect for William for getting through that unveiling without pushing him into the pond and putting his foot on top of his head.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 02/07/2021 19:00

Family dynamics never fail to fascinate me, as someone in a deeply dysfunctional wider family where no one would ever dare call it dysfunctional.

I would love to know more about the relationship between William and Harry but unfortunately you really cannot trust anything you read in the press. So speculation is pointless really, OP.

SecretSpAD · 02/07/2021 19:31

I'm predisposed to think that any sentence that includes the words "as a wife and mother" will be a pile of steaming, patronising bullshit.

Run, Meghan, run.

Miseryl · 02/07/2021 19:36

What a strange post. The idea that being married for years and pushing out kids makes you qualified to dish out life advice to people you've never met! Who aren't even asking for advice! 🤣🤣

Port1aCastis · 02/07/2021 19:43

I think the media have accentuated a squabble and invented a pile of horse shite, nobody has even met the Princes let alone spoken to them but bullshit sells papers and people love to gossip so someone has to be a target, however so long as the target doesn't read all the nastiness it seems to be ok to lie slander and libel him/her.

FrippEnos · 02/07/2021 20:11

TotorosCatBus
I think that Meghan is due an apology considering that she was offered as a sacrifice for in exchange for Andrew.

wow, just wow.

I agree. Also with what topwings said.

If the late Princess of Wales was still with us, she would have helped Meghan and Harry. In the end it was just easier for them to go away.

pallisers · 02/07/2021 20:56

I'm highly amused that people have no difficulty loathing the Sussexes for their tell-all/californian interview while thinking Diana is some kind of saint - do people not remember what she said about the royal family and the interviews she gave? Remember the headmaster at Eton having to take the Wales boys aside and warn them what was going to be broadcast to the nation by their mother - and then their father?

KaptainKaveman · 02/07/2021 21:06

Eh? What a weird post. OP you don't know these people, you just read the Daily Mail. It's kind of amusing, although it's slightly pathetic too. Smile. Just keep telling yourself : I DON'T KNOW THEM I JUST READ THE DAILY MAIL.

And good luck.

KaptainKaveman · 02/07/2021 21:13

People are human and we all make mistakes.

Gosh OP you really nail it there. Such insight.

at the end.of the day nothing is as important as family.

Oh bollocks.

AlGorithim · 02/07/2021 21:17

What the fuck is this bollocks.

Justmuddlingalong · 02/07/2021 21:19

My mum's a right cunt, can you explain how that fits in with your nothing is as important as family bullshit, OP?

KaptainKaveman · 02/07/2021 21:24

Yep, the Royal family is stuffed full of freaks, weirdos and Prince Andrew who likes to interfere with children and go on holiday with paedophiles.
Megan and Harry did well to escape that den.of sordid ugliness.
