Literally carried my husband

Floogal · 30/06/2021 23:29

We have a 5 year old and both in our early 40s. Last night we were tidying up the kitchen and DH was sitting on side putting things in cupboard. As I walked past him he put his arms around my shoulders then wrapped his legs around my waist. I managed to give him a piggyback ride for a few seconds before dropping him in hysterics. Actually proud I did that. Why did he do that? GrinCan anyone else lift up their hubby?

I just tried. No. But he jumped to make it seem like I could, which was cute!

Floralnomad · 02/07/2021 21:16

Not a hope of me lifting my husband . I’m not sure the worktops in our kitchen could take his weight let alone me carry him , we would end up in a big heap on the floor .

StrongLegs · 02/07/2021 21:22

Definitely couldn't. Well done! Also that sounds hiliarious fun, and we could all do with a bit of that right now.

What even with a name like Strong Legs?? Grin

No way could I do that to my husband! He weighs 11st more than me and is 1 foot 3 inches taller than me 😂

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 03/07/2021 14:05

@Saz12

Stand back to back. Link arms (at elbows). Bend your knees, so DH is leaning back in a limbo type style. Straighten knees. Ta dah! You can lift someone v much heavier than you are like that, without destroying your back. A pointless skill though...!
Not pointless when there's a lower spine that need decompressing or the upper back is feeling and bit squashed...

Yes, we're old and creaky.

LittleRedPill · 03/07/2021 14:24

Never tried but probably not as he weighs at least 5 stone more than me.

ATowelAndAPotato · 03/07/2021 14:32

Neither DH or I could lift the other, but I love that you have little moments like this in your life, it sounds like you have a lovely relationship!

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/07/2021 14:36

Wouldn’t even try. He’s 9 inches taller than me and several stone heavier and I had a bad shoulder.

But good work OP!

Bellasblankexpression · 03/07/2021 14:39

Not a chance, he’s over six foot and I am not 😂😂
I am quite tempted to give it a try though, maybe tonight at half time after a glass of wine Grin

claralara42 · 03/07/2021 14:41

We could each carry the other and have done. He carried me most of a 2 mile walk after I'd worn very unsuitable shoes to an event and we couldn't get a ride home Grin

Coulddowithanap · 03/07/2021 14:47

Sounds like my husband, he's jumped on my back a few times 😂 he is a bit lighter than me though.

I have managed to someone up and carry them fireman style, they were the same weight as me.

Yup! The man NEVER remembers to bring wellies! I have carried him through a ford (while my sister died laughing) and across an inlet on a beach in Cornwall (while a group of surfers pissed themselves)! Grin

I weigh about 11 stone and he is maybe 12.5 stone. He very nearly got ditched in the water a few times!

Mama1980 · 03/07/2021 16:33

Not a hope, he's very muscular and well over 6ft. I'm 5'7" broken and weigh barely 8 stone. He can however and has carried me for pretty much miles before when my body gave up - to the hilarity of the children Grin

Wombat36 · 03/07/2021 16:38

Yep, I can pick my DH up but he's considerably lighter than me...

garlictwist · 03/07/2021 16:54

My other half is literally twice my weight so there is no way I could pick him up.

OhRene · 03/07/2021 17:04

I can carry mine easily. Not only do I weigh more than him but I spent a lifetime lugging around heavy bales, buckets and barrows growing up on a farm.

DH cannot lift me at all.

Garraty47 · 03/07/2021 17:19

I can! DH is 6.2 and 15 stone. I'm 5.4 and 9 stone 10.

miltonj · 03/07/2021 18:14

I can't piggy back him but if we stand back to back snd link arms I can lift him on my back snd then do squats if that makes sense - my mother in law always tells me to put him down Grin

ALongHardWinter · 03/07/2021 18:53

I used to be able to lift my ex BF. But then he was only 9 stone, and 5 ft 7,whereas I'm 5 ft 5,and was at that time 16 stone. Blush (Glad to say I'm considerably lighter now).

HunterAngel · 03/07/2021 18:55

Never! He’s over a foot taller then me and considerably heavier, I’d never get him off the ground.

Floogal · 11/07/2021 15:43

Update.

DC was up early this morning so went downstairs to put milkshake on 😏. Thankfully I was bit more awake as DH was coming behind me he put his arms on my shoulders and jumped on my back. I actually managed to piggyback him for about 15 seconds 😁😁😁. Just in our night where (both t shirt and briefs) so I hope no one saw through window 😂😂😂 might be strange to see 1st thing Sunday morning 🤣

I can easily carry my other half 😂
He's a skinny 9 stone double of mr muscle 😛

AmyDudley · 11/07/2021 16:28

I'm impressed, but do be careful of your back, quite apart from the pain, you may also find yourself having to explain to HCP how you injured it.
