Comfy non old lady sandal recommendations

Since making the summer transition to sandals and doing extra hours at work (standing up most of the day) my feet are killing me at the end of the day. Can anyone recommend some modern sandals with good support? I have 2 pairs that I seem to wear on rotation which I really love, but they were from H&M and are really flat and offer no support. I've tried googling it but I just seem to get pavers or fitflops and the designs seem a bit dated for me. Also, I don't want to be spending a huge amount on them either. Am I asking for the moon on a stick or are there some good, on trend sandals that won't kill my feet at the end of the day or cost me a small fortune?

I'm very flat footed so need proper support/realignment and buy Vionic shoes/sandals/flipflops. They're available on the Simply Feet website.

I was a Birkenstocks person, but got these, I can work on my feet for hours and hours, so comfy, mine are like this but purpley/pink and grey.

I know you said you thought fitflop were a bit dated. But I think these look ok:

For me, when I'm wearing the sandals I'm fine, but at the end of the day or first thing in the morning, the balls of my feet really hurt, and I struggle to walk properly for a bit, so I can tell that the bottom of the sandals are just too thin with not enough cushioning.

Earth Spirit Lynbrook , for wide feet they look nice and not old lady, they come in red, brown, yellow, blue and they have velcro adjustability across toes and heel,

Funnily enough I was looking at the tan coloured pair similar to these and thought the looked lovely!

Office do the comfiest sandals I’ve ever bought - they come in multiple colours, can’t recommend them enough. Think they’ve got 20% off at the moment too!

Thanks so much for the recommendations, I'll get googling and have a good look at them all. I've never really had this problem before and can usually wear any flat sandals and my feet are fine. I am on my feet a lot more for work, plus I've put on a bit of weight Blushand now I'm mid 40s so I think this combo means I need to invest more on better quality footwear.

Joseph Seibel - another brand that, like Hotter, can be a bit elderly, but there are some gems in there and they last for EVER!

I know Hotter are old lady shoes but I live in their Easy sandals in the summer.

I've not heard of Saltwater though so will have a look at those.

Another vote for Birkenstocks. My first pair lasted me 10 years. My 2nd are 6 years old and going strong. I have no idea if they are stylish though!

fruitpastille · 18/06/2021 17:36

I have the birkenstock mayari in the link above. I know what size I need so they ate very easy to buy. I can walk/stand all day in them. I only get 2 summers out of them before they are too scruffy for work though.

Cocolapew · 18/06/2021 23:37

I have these and they are very soft and very comfy.

Surprisingly these are the comfiest sandals I've ever owned. I've had my pair for a while now and walked all round Seville in them when I visited. I'd never have thought New Look for comfy sandals but for the price they're definitely worth a try. I discovered Oofos in the US two years ago, and have NEVER looked back - they are designed as a running / hiking recovery sandal/shoe so the arch support and comfort is off the charts....

I also love their 'feel the oo' marketing!

I just got some of these from schuh, comfy and cool:

Girlwhowearsglasses · 24/06/2021 17:57

Esska do the sort of sandals you can go out in that are comfy and fabulous. They also do good sales!

Ecco do comfy sandals too.

I love saltwater but can't wear anymore because soles are too thin and they make my feet ache, shame

I bought these! I absolutely love them, however, they make a farting sound when I walk!!! It's the air between the arch of my foot and the shoe! Did you get this? No idea how to get rid of it either Blush

Definately Birkenstock’s. I have fallen arches, and they mould to your foot shape and give great support. I live in mine, and have several pairs.
