DH is so easily pleased

Ha! We're sat out in the garden this afternoon, it's about 23 degrees and the first decent weather garden day we've had.

I got the recliner loungers out and brought a tray of olives, beer, tortillas and dip out.

37 year old DH sits in a lounger and sees the beer and snacks, claps his hands like an excited toddler and announces "Yay! Holiday!"

Grin made me smile. 23 degrees, some olives and beer and we're transported to holiday mode.

@FinallyHere she didn't build and fill an Olympic size swimming pool ffs.

Enjoy, OP. Your husband sounds very sweet, it's the little things like some sunshine and snacks in the garden that make a fab day Grin

CosyAcorn · 05/06/2021 17:19

I think those who are easily pleased are a good sort to be with. Appreciative, easy going and find the good in little things, just makes them good company.

IEat · 05/06/2021 17:20

Love this. Definitely the simple things in life, I like hearing the squeaking of the seagulls. Makes me happy

MaidEdithofAragon · 05/06/2021 17:28

My DH is easily pleased just like this. A glass of wine in the garden and a tube of Pringles on a sunny evening...he'll go on about it all night. It's nice though sometimes I'd like if we did something a bit more adventurous. But overall it makes him easy to live with.

8Track · 05/06/2021 17:31

Ah you both sound wonderful!! I had a similar reaction to putting on some suncream that smells of holiday this morning!

And beer, olives and chips n dips in the sunshine sounds like bliss. Let's make a happy commune of easily pleased people!

DriedIris · 05/06/2021 17:33

I love that everyone is cheered up by the simple things too! Grin We're still in the garden now (I'm actually quite pissed. No kids here btw).

I'll repeat for those that missed it that he was washing both our cars this morning.

Dh is the same

DriedIris · 05/06/2021 17:36

And I'm def not a Stepford Wife, I'd much rather be pottering around getting beers than choose to wash my dirty pigeon shit car.

I've got the better deal generally! But thank you for your concern @FinallyHere Wink

Sounds great. I made DH a Pimms and he played on the water slide with our DS’s. He said, ‘Who needs Majorca?’ He is 44.
He is now prepping a barbecue for 12 while I drink the cup of tea he made me.

Nohomemadecandles · 05/06/2021 17:42

@FinallyHere yes you are! Misery!

OP, it made me smile too. Happy holidays! Grin

That sounds excellent.

I'm jealous of your water slide!

DH sounds like a keeper. As do you, you domestic goddess Grin

motherofsnortpigs · 05/06/2021 17:49

@DriedIris - it’s just a hosepipe down the garden slide with plastic sheeting on the grass. You have to do some kind of clever roll at the end to avoid landing on the patio. He was taking selfie videos (is there a word for that?).

pheonixrebirth · 05/06/2021 17:49

@user1471538283

He sounds a sweetheart! I love people that appreciate the little things.
Was just going to say that, it really is the little things/moments that make life good. 😊
NorthernChinchilla · 05/06/2021 17:51

I've just said to my DH I cannot think of anything better than sitting outside of our little rental cottage in a SE town, with him, a navy strength gin, the paper and the sun.

Shortly we're really going to push the boat out and take the kids to the two penny arcade on the sea front Grin

Boood · 05/06/2021 17:55

It’s the secret to a happy life: take pleasure from the little things that are easy to achieve, and build them into every day.

dudsville · 05/06/2021 17:59

I agree that this is the way to live. If you have the capacity to stumble upon a nice thing and engage with it then you're winning in life. Calling it being easily pleased may be a little condescending, it's a higher level way of living in my book!

MoreHairyThanScary · 05/06/2021 18:06

I'm jealous it's lightly drizzling and not looking like it's buggering off anytime soon.

I want olives and wine on loungers

ChikiTIKI · 05/06/2021 18:15

Aww sounds great. The little things in life are just so Joyful. Sometimes me and my husband will bring each other a sliced up apple and it feels like such a treat compared to a whole one. It's just putting in a little bit of time for each other, just because you love them. Makes all the difference.

Crinkle77 · 05/06/2021 18:16

Am I the only person wondering what he was doing all that time ?

For goodness sake. Talk about putting a downer on someone else's good mood.
icelollycraving · 05/06/2021 18:25

Marvellous! He sounds a lovely joyful person to be with Smile

Yes Hmm

Have a lovely time OP!

We're far less charming now, we may have just danced around the garden to mambo number 5 like Jim and Twiggy in Royale Family.

Grin 2 overweight slightly sunburned tipsy late 30yo's.

You both sound great! That's a fantastic scene in the Royale Family, a classic Grin
