Dog name help - suggestions please!

Hi there, we are getting a beautiful hound type female dog in the next two weeks, and we need a name for her.
Because she looks so noble, I don't really want a cutesy scruffy name, I want a noble name, but one we can yell across the park without sounding like knobs. We have met her and her parents twice now, and they are such lovely calm and gentle dogs I don't need anything that sounds too vigorous either.
I know I am overthinking this, but I've been wanting a dog for 10 years now, but haven't been in the right circumstances to be at home for her. I want to
This is the list:
Romily (Romy)
Dulcie
Amber
Sadie
Lana
The only one I really like is Dulcie, but the others have been suggested by DD and DH. Can you suggest some other lovely names?
Others that have been nixed by my pesky family:
Sienna,
Honey
Juno
Eden

Thanks in advance!

Cromarty is a good one! Our dog's full title is Lyra Finty Mcgoo or Booboo when she's being tucked up in bed 😏

Ahem. Are you not aware of the rulz?

RoSEbuds6 · 29/05/2021 20:35

Well she’s not with us just yet - two weeks to go - so here is a blurry one of her @ 5 weeks. When she is home with us and 100% ours I’ll put up a better one. I don’t want to jinx it 🤞🏻

@CastAColdEye

We have a Lurcher called Lyra.
Ooh, love this.

Orla,

Standrewsschool · 29/05/2021 21:39

She’s so cute!

Roxie
Willow
Ruby

LoveFall · 29/05/2021 21:46

She's lovely and has a very wise and distinguished face, with a touch of mischief. How about Amelia after Amelia Earhart the famous feminist pilot?

You could use Amy as an example of shortening it.

Margo

Would like to point out that Cromarty is a great name, I have a black scruffy guinea pig called Cromarty! (All our piggies are named after places).

CastAColdEye · 29/05/2021 22:00

She's a beaut.

She looks like a Nancy to me.

Pengwyn · 29/05/2021 22:04

Bella

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 29/05/2021 22:08

She looks like a Dulcie. 🥰

I’m toying with Echo. For every no you say, you’ll get at least three back. (Speaking from experience!)

She is beautiful!!!

Dora26 · 29/05/2021 22:09

Bella
Chessie

Lovely dog, hope a bringer of much love and joy. No suggestion of names, just something I have said on other threads. Think of a name you feel you could call out loudly in a park, on a walk, or anywhere else and not sound ridiculous.

RoSEbuds6 · 29/05/2021 22:23

You seem to have grasped her complex character so quickly and accurately @LoveFall Grin. I may have read slightly too much into her nature from the hour she spent snoozing on my lap, but I am sure she is a beautiful little soul.
Sadly Amelia, Orla, Margo and Bella are all girls in DD's class, and Ruby and Roxie are family dogs so their names are verboten
@weegiemum you piggie sounds wonderful, do you have one called Dogger too?

I could agree that her name will be Sadie and pronounce it SaDulcie, possibly dropping the Sss sound altogether over time.

This is very much DH's approach @newnortherner111 which is why so many of my more creative names are being shot down in flames.

PennineWayinSlingbacks · 30/05/2021 01:07

Delphine

PennineWayinSlingbacks · 30/05/2021 01:11

Or Isla.

Imapotato · 30/05/2021 08:09

I like Daphne for a dog, I think if I ever get another female dog she’ll be a daphne.

Also

Audrey
Queenie
Marlene
Hubertine
Magdalene (Maggie for short)
Patricia
Clarice
Genevieve

Pengwyn · 30/05/2021 08:57

Gigi

RoSEbuds6 · 30/05/2021 09:03

I think of Daphne as the name of an Afghan Hound @Imapotato,
Isla was the name of our dearly departed cat, so can’t really reuse @PennineWayinSlingbacks, but Delphine is going on the list 😀 Delly for short
