Where are my keys?!

AwFeebs · 27/05/2021 18:35

This morning I was rushing and got in the car didn't have the keys but our car has push start button so as long as the keys are in the vehicle it'll start.

Dropped off and returned home fine, went to nip out again and the keys no where to be seen. I've turned the car upside down. If I'd of dropped the keys after drop off the car would alert me that I was driving without the fob in the car.

I am stumped.

Any luck OP!

hennaoj · 28/05/2021 17:04

Check the fridge and kitchen bin. That's where I put random things.

AwFeebs · 28/05/2021 18:46

Checked all the doors.

Also checked bin and fridge.

No joy.

I'm guessing it's fallen out of wherever the door was last opened and someone has then taken the key. Do you have a spare?

AwFeebs · 28/05/2021 19:17

@MiddleClassMother if that was the case it would've set off an annoying alarm as it always does if the fobs not in there. 🙈

That's better than mine then! It doesn't say anything until you try to turn it on again, thankfully I've never driven off without it

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 28/05/2021 19:20

Maybe the car warning beep to tell your keys are not in the car.
Check your fridge Smile

purplecorkheart · 28/05/2021 19:31

In the gap between the flat of the seat and the upright back.

orlaquiver · 28/05/2021 19:34

Do you have a baby? I had this once and it turned out keys were in the babies car seat with the baby sat on top of them.
Driving with baby in car fine. Take baby out of car in car seat and put in house, can't lock the car. Baby asleep so stays in car seat while I go bloody mental and practically take the car apart trying to find them. Baby was about 8 weeks old and I was very sleep deprived. I may have phoned my mum and cried....

justaweeone · 28/05/2021 19:36

Where they on the roof of the car?

Hfjshdhs · 28/05/2021 19:40

When you’ve found them I can really recommend a tile. They are brilliant.

I lost my keys recently, but someone else who had a tile connected to mine and so once I had registered them as lost, a notification came through to my phone based on someone else walking past them.

They were in my daughter’s nursery bag at her nursery.

lakesummer · 28/05/2021 20:47

I also have a tiles, they are great.

OhWifey · 28/05/2021 21:11

Roof of the car? Have lost mine there twice For ages. Blush

AwFeebs · 28/05/2021 23:01

Not on the roof, no baby seats, checked down every crevice in the car.

They're gone.

We left our spare at a relatives house and they've posted it thankfully.

It's really bugging me where it's gone though. I won't be able to stop looking.

Omg. You've still not got them? How awful.

AwFeebs · 28/05/2021 23:32

Nope. I'm truly at a loss!

Post or check the Facebook group for your area.

lakesummer · 28/05/2021 23:44

If you can still drive your car then they can't have gone.
They must be in the car.

Can you lock the car? I can if my keys are in my bag but not if they are in the car.

Donitta · 28/05/2021 23:48

The keys must have been in the car when you went out and must have still been in the car when you came home. Otherwise the car wouldn’t have started and would have alerted you. So you’ve obviously taken them out of the car with you when you arrived home and then you’ve put them somewhere. What did you put down or remove in between returning home and attempting to go out again? Even if you picked up and put everything back on, the keys could have fallen out.

MiddleClassMother · 29/05/2021 11:42

Oh yes try locking! Good suggestion PP. The car shouldn't lock if the keys are in the car.

peridito · 29/05/2021 12:08

blatant placemarking for update

AwFeebs · 29/05/2021 13:51

I couldn't drive the car so the key must not of been in there but I didn't remove anything from the car apart from myself. I came in sat down for 45 minutes before trying to take our dog to the groomers which is when the car said it had no fob in it.

We've turned both the house and car upside down and they've gone without a trace.

Luckily we have the spare now but my god it is annoying me.

I've phoned the doctors again to see if anythings been handed in and still nothing. Checked all around the car outside in case it randomly dropped in a bush somewhere. No luck!
