What's your highest step count in a day?

I felt pleased with myself for accomplishing 22,000 steps yesterday. I used to be a very sedentary person who probably averaged 2000 at most Blush

I looked at the Fitbit badges and there's one for 100,000 steps! In a single day! Confused

What's the highest you have reached?

@Clarabellawilliamson

How does your Fitbit count correlate with the step counter on your phone? I don't have a Fitbit but find the phone counter very satisfying- I am pleased with myself if I have done more steps. I think it must under count though as I don't have it on me all the time- especially at work. I would love to know a more accurate number!
They're pretty accurate I think. I have my phone on me and my watch counts my steps too, they're never very far apart in terms of numbers.

I was pretty pleased with my 9500 steps each day last week until this thread Grin

I've had over 30k a few times after a day out in London.

iVampire · 23/05/2021 14:10

Just over 54k

Virtual London Marathon last October

Indoctro · 23/05/2021 14:15

Average is around 20k a day, most 60,000k

AuntieStella · 23/05/2021 14:19

An active sort of 'ordinary' day, near home, walking on errands, going for a run etc will put me around 15-20k.

Highest I think was about 32k hiking in mountains.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 23/05/2021 14:20

30,000 building a new driveway and moving palates of pavers from the road to the back garden. Could harldy walk the next day.
I do close to 20,000 on a normal work day 12 hour shift. Thank god I'm only part time.

DisgruntledPelican · 23/05/2021 14:26

About 60,000 - running a marathon, then a long walk back to the car, then tried to keep moving occasionally for the rest of the day!

YanTanTethera123 · 23/05/2021 14:30

44,760 steps pushing two little GDSs in a buggy around various green parks in London a couple of years ag.
Generally do around 6000 steps a day.

emmathedilemma · 23/05/2021 14:41

I walked marathon distance a few weeks ago (plus a bit either side) and that was "only" 53700 in a day. Running a marathon is less steps because your stride is longer.
100,000 is a lot!

Oldraver · 23/05/2021 18:20

I do anywhere between 23,00-30,000 though have reached 32,000 on a very busy day

meikyo · 23/05/2021 19:07

About 70k on the Edinburgh Moonwalk a couple of years ago - included walking to and from start from central Edinburgh and walking from our local station to and from home.

HelenHywater · 23/05/2021 19:18

I'm averaging 18k at the moment. Some days that means 25/30k and some days (a lazy weekend day like today)10k . Often have a run included in that.

I haven't got a record of my highest, but it's probably around 50k on a city break. My apple watch did tell me I'd done 110k one day last dec, but I think that was a glitch.

Verbena87 · 23/05/2021 19:27

41k - 20 mile fell race.

swampytiggaa · 23/05/2021 19:29

I got the 50k Fitbit badge once as a personal challenge 😊

These days I get anywhere between 15 and 30k every day. Usually over 25 tbh.

Lalallama · 23/05/2021 19:38

I'm trying to do 10k steps a day - I'm finding it difficult though because I'm working at home sitting at a desk so I have to go out for two 5k walks a day which is hard to find the time to do.

FoodieToo · 23/05/2021 19:53

30,000 on a day in Duinrell theme park with the family .
Also 30,000 walking around Rome .
