Kyph have you got the wrong thread. This is a thread for moaning about the cold for miserable people.

TheDukeissoHot1 · 13/05/2021 16:51

It's beautiful here, blue skies & sunshine with a bit of a breeze. Nicest weather we've had all week. Smile

I think it’s my fault. Sorry.

I’ve been moaning a lot about lack of rain as the grass in my horses’ field wasn’t growing.

I didn’t want this much though.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 13/05/2021 16:54

I'm in Cumbria too - it's chucking it down and I've got fluffy slippers, a hoodie and the heating on!

To be fair I shouldn't have posted as it's gone all overcast here as well Grin
RunAwayNow · 13/05/2021 16:59

It's never ending. It's making me feel really miserable Sad

Dreamingofbeergardens · 13/05/2021 17:08

We are meant to be going to an outdoor wedding on Saturday. Heavy rain. Angry

Ah that's rubbish. I hope an anorak will go with your planned outfit Sad

We've got a week booked in Cornwall last week of May and the forecast STILL doesn't look any better. I can't remember a year we didn't at least have a 10 day or longer mini heatwave in April or May. It's depressing. I keep thinking 'we'll have the heatwave in the next couple of weeks' and then it still doesn't happen.

I feel most sorry for the pubs (especially rural ones) - think how much busier they'd be with outside tables if it was nice weather, especially in the evenings when it's bloody freezing still.

Tal45 · 13/05/2021 17:18

Everyday I'm in raincoat, ear muffs and sun glasses. I literally have no idea what the weather is going to do next. We were so spoilt last year and this year has been shit.

AlCalavicci · 13/05/2021 17:19

It was nice this morning in the northwest sunshine and warm but since then we've had thunderstorms hailstone and very very black clouds and heavy rain it's shorts and wellies weather !

Thisgirlcando · 13/05/2021 17:23

I’ve had the fire on this afternoon!

pickingdaisies · 13/05/2021 17:26

@Springersrock Don't feel guilty, because I suspect this is my doing- I ordered a garden bench and it turned up this morning. It looks lovely - but it's staying in the house until it stops raining Grin

SmileyClare · 13/05/2021 17:36

Everyday I'm in a rain coat, earmuffs and sunglasses Grin

I feel your pain. It's impossible to dress in the correct outfit at the moment! Will it come out hot for 20 minutes? Will it hail? Will you leave in the morning with a promising looking bit of sun only for the wind to whip up into an arctic frenzy by lunchtime.

Gertie75 · 13/05/2021 17:39

Mother Nature got April and May the wrong way round this year.

dottiedodah · 13/05/2021 17:50

We are on the South Coast and flipping chilly! Still in my thermal vest.Every day/week hoping for an improvement .Maybe we will get some sunshine June/ July and an Indian summer ?

PainterInPeril · 13/05/2021 18:15

I'm in the SW, and I'm loving the rain! (Probably because I'm not out in it.) But it gives me nostalgic vibes of my sister and I staying overnight in my gran's caravan in her garden. It was raining so hard that we couldn't sleep that night so I made us a hot chocolate drink each. Happy days! My sister might not have the same happy memories as her side of the caravan started leaking!Grin

Yes, April lulled us into a false sense of summer!

Yep. I didn’t see this thread and started one of my own. The weather!! Arrrrrgh!!!

I live in Wales and there's a saying about it "raining knives and forks" - that. It's bouncing off the pavement.
Angry

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/05/2021 19:13

April was too dry. This is more like April weather. May is usually a dry month. It’s the cold weather that’s getting me. I’ve turned the heating on. We’ve had torrential rain here in the SW today. All my pots in the garden flooded.

PainterInPeril · 13/05/2021 20:52

@beardeddragon174 Raining knives and forks! GrinNever heard that one before but I love it. Makes more sense than cats and dogs to my mind!

M0rT · 13/05/2021 21:01

My grandmother used to say "a wet and windy May fills the barn with hay" meaning you'll have a sunny June if you have a bad May.
So take heart.

Volcanoexplorer · 13/05/2021 21:32

I’m fed up of being cold. Ta making me really miserable. Just want a bit of warm weather.
