How do you apply your foundation?

Basic I know but I feel like I don't have a good method. This is my current routine but hoping some more experienced posters might be able to give me some tips.

Cleanse
Vit c
Moisturise
SPF

Then I just apply Double Wear very quickly to my face. I don't think I do a very good job and it takes me about 2 minutes. Combination skin.

What do I do differently?

@Therewereroses

OP, my suggestion is that you're loading on too much under the foundation so the foundation is essentially slipping over the layer of 'grease/oil/moisturiser/SPF' Does it not spread properly? You're layering on a lot of products there. If you can imagine applying a layer of sudocrem and then trying to apply foundation over that, can you see what you're doing? You need a more absorbent moisturiser which 'can be used as a base for foundation'. What is this Vit C and SPF that you're using?
Makes sense. Thank you. These are the products I use: Lancôme cream cleanser ( can't use water as it dries my face up) LRP vitamin C ( recommended on here) M&S Pure moisturiser Clinique City Block ( recommended on here)

It doesn't slip off really. I apply it then after an hour it sort of goes blotchy. Not red blotchy but it just doesn't give good coverage.

Thanks for the help. I will have a look at the sponge thing. I did used to use a brush but I found it just meant I was using SO much foundation as it just sort of soaked it up into the brush. Maybe I was doing it wrong?

@booklover164 definitely look into a beauty blender type of sponge. The real techniques one is pretty good and is often on offer in boots/Superdrug. I think it works really well with double wear. :)
