First dance songs

Me and my partner are getting married next year and am looking for nice first dance songs.

The cliche popular ones (Ed Sheehan, Bryan adams etc etc) we don’t want. The only one we thought ‘Oo that could be interesting’ was an acoustic version of Nothing else matters by Metallica.

Any ideas? What was your first dance? ☺️

Ours was Baby I Love You by the Ramones. We considered Hey Good Lookin (Hank Williams) and God Only Knows (Beach Boys), it came down to the one that was easiest to dance to.

Thank you everyone! Lots of suggestions here to YouTube...

If and when we do decide on a song it’ll be likely our band will cover it so it can be as short as possible!

Dh and I met through OLD (18 years ago- was our 14th wedding anniversary last week). We met a couple of times- but the first time he came to my house, we decided to watch 'When Harry Met Sally'

We had 'It had to be you' the Harry Connick Jnr version at our wedding, a few years later, as we loved the film.

My 'second' dance was with my ds - who was 4 - to Amarillo by Tony Christie (his favourite song at the time).

Love Song by The Cure. Adele does a version that's probably easier to dance to, in hindsight...

My DH has very little interest in music (doesn't tend to associate memories with songs) but he loves James Bond so we had Nobody Does It Better by Carly Simon. I loved the song, he loved the Bond element and the words worked for the situation.
