What buggers up your weight loss plans??

I REALLY need to loose some weight. What’s happened before is I get going - all good - then I derail myself by making super shit decisions, like eating endless takeaways when I’m doing horrendous hours. This time, I am trying to think of the bumps I will hit in advance so I can plan for them - but I don’t think I’m even aware of the half of it, so I’d love to know what other people think knackers it for them - and maybe we can exchange learning points?!

I agree with all that's been said so far, especially the lack of planning and the fuck-it gene.

Weighing myself can make me fall off the wagon too, especially if the weight loss was disappointing that week. I've been dieting for the last 3 weeks, for the first 2 weeks I was happy with the loss, weighed myself last Friday, was disappointed and since then have ate non stop 😣 Even though I knew it was because of the TOTM, even though I knew it was just bloat, I still just caved! So I've decided to just weigh meself once a month instead - and at a time in my cycle I'm less likely to be bloated.

When ya consider all the stuff that gets in the way it's a wonder anyone ever loses weight 🤷🏻‍♀️

I find MyFitnessPal really hard and tricky to get a handle on. Looking up stuff, deciding whether an apple is small medium or large
I know you can scan stuff with bar codes but for the most part it involves weighing and measuring and don’t get me started on fat fingers adding the wrong things.

Oh and yes, not planning totally messes me up.

Special occasions/ someone else (dh) cooking.
Eating after dinner.
Eating when a cup of decaf would do.
Losing a pound or two then relaxing a bit the next day because I've done well- then putting it back on.

For me it was alcohol.Having a few drinks ,getting the munchies and ordering a takeaway.

I didnt eat off the kids plates, didnt drink coke.
My downfall was crisps and dips,i could easily eat a load of them.

I knocked the drinking on the head a few weeks ago[ had 2 cans of gin and diet tonic, and woke up with a hangover]
Havent had a full takeaway in the same amount of time.

But was diagnosed as having T2,so started walking and a workout and so far i have lost about 8lb .

Its slow and tedious and its not coming off as fast as i want but im actually enjoying my exercise and healthy eating. And my cravings have come down a lot as well.

I did have a "day off" a few weeks ago,i ate what i wanted and it satisfied me.
