And took a bite and immediately recoiled! Have they recently changed their recipe?? Or have I got a dud bar?? It is HORRID Envy (not envy).

I’ve never met a bar of dairy milk I didn’t love, op!😂 Lots of posters on here complain about how it’s changed over the last few years but I still love it.

swiggless · 27/03/2021 20:15

@ScarlettDarling I'm confused because last week DH bought an Easter egg and I had the small bar of chocolate and he had the egg; that bar was lovely! But tonight, I have a big one and it's horrible??

I am sure it has changed but maybe it's my taste buds.

They used to do a delicious bar about twenty years ago which was a small rectangle with long fat fingers. I adored that bar.

DuckonaBike · 27/03/2021 20:16

Cadbury’s Dairy Milk has been rubbish for a few years now. Waste of calories.

TheDoctorDances · 27/03/2021 20:54

Crazy question - could it be Covid?

A family member had it and said all food tasted bloody weird, they had very few other symptoms.

ilikebungalows · 27/03/2021 20:55

Purely in the interests of scientific research I have put my own interests to one side and FORCED myself to eat some Dairy Milk. I can say, without fear of contradiction, that it was lovely. Creamy and chocolatey. Did I say without fear of contradiction? Contradict me if you wish, I'll just go and eat some more to prove you wrong. As that Bronte woman nearly said - reader I ate it. So there.

FoodieToo · 27/03/2021 21:00

We are in Ireland and Cadbury's chocolate is back to normal !!! Yay !!

Gastontheladybird2 · 27/03/2021 21:04

Yeah my first thought was covid too.

My SIL went to a really renowned bakery for afternoon tea last summer and slated it. Got tested at work the next day, she's a nurse, and it was positive. She had no other symptoms either.

Bluntness100 · 27/03/2021 21:06

Nope we buy the huge bars here and are all fans.

Or could you be pregnant?
Bluntness100 · 27/03/2021 21:15

Or another infection op? There’s multiple causes to make your taste buds change, recoiling is quite a significant reaction. Especially to something that tastes great.

GinWithOlivesIn · 27/03/2021 21:35

Sorry OP, the change to taste is still on the list of most common symptoms for covid so you should really isolate and get a test. If you were only eating some last week it’s probably you, not the bar.

Karmatime · 27/03/2021 21:37

Sometimes you get a dud bar, it might have been kept at the wrong temperature in the store or something. I have cheap taste in chocolate and love a bar of Dairy Milk or Galaxy but every now and then I get a disappointing one. It’s not a bad thing, it puts me off for a while so I eat less chocolate.

Love51 · 27/03/2021 21:41

How long ago did you last have it? It isn't so nice post-Kraft but presumably you eat Cadbury chocolate a few times a year.

Parkerwhereareyou · 27/03/2021 21:46

Dairy Milk hasn't changed.

So check why your taste response has. Sorry, but this isn't the Dairy Milk : (

BonnesVacances · 27/03/2021 21:59

It definitely has changed whatever bullshit Kraft come out with Hmm but not recently.

Fountainsoftea · 27/03/2021 21:59

I used to love creme eggs, but went off them a couple of years ago. They just aren't the same. But then, toffee mallow were still the greatest ever.

SplendidSuns1000 · 27/03/2021 22:23

I opened a tub of cadbury drinking chocolate earlier and it was pure sugar with a chemical aftertaste. I'd bought 2 tubs at the same time and the other was vile too.

I hope this isn't a joke! If it's true I'm insanely excited! Have they really changed the recipe back?
coronafiona · 28/03/2021 02:32

I've eat a crepe egg today and it seemed tasteless. No covid as tested negative yesterday. It was really strange, sort of,.. empty tasting

King size I think it was called, I loved them but was only allowed them as a special treat! My dad used to get them all the time.

I love Cadbury but I find the new shape of dairy milk doesn’t sit the same in my mouth so I tend to go for things like buttons and freddos now rather than dairy milk.

I'm sure they don't taste the same as they used to... they're just bland and sugary now! I've switched to caramel eggs...
Crafting1Queen · 28/03/2021 03:26

Cadbury's went down the pan when it sold out to Kraft and stinking palm oil, it's now officially boak! Angry

1forAll74 · 28/03/2021 03:36

I don't like the dairy milk chocolate anymore,, it tastes greasy and much too sweet. Maybe it has palm oil in it these days.

Pinkywoo · 28/03/2021 07:58

The best milk chocolate I've had recently is Ritter sport, it's like dairy milk was years ago.
