LisaD76 · 21/03/2021 18:07

28 if doing in order or 10 if you multiply first

Elakiya · 21/03/2021 18:09

I get 11?

Equation 1: 10 chocolate chips + 10 chocolate chips + 10 chocolate chips =30

Therefore each chocolate chip = 1

Equation 2: 2 bananas + 2 bananas + 10 chocolate chips = 14
So 4 bananas = 4
so 1 banana = 1

Equation 3 : 2 bananas + 3 hours past 12 + 3 hours past 12 = 8
so 6 hours past 12 = 6
so 1 hour past 12 = 1

Equation 4: 2 hours past 12 (i.e. 2 O'clock) + 1 banana + 1 banana + 7 chocolate chips

so I have 2 + 1 + 1 + 7 = 11

Someone put me out of my misery and tell me how it's 10 please

melanieb32 · 21/03/2021 18:10

70

Elakiya · 21/03/2021 18:10

Ignore me!!! I have just noticed the x in the equation
so Equation 4
2 hours past 12 (i.e. 2 O'clock) + 1 banana + 1 banana x 7 chocolate chips

= 2 + 1 + 1 x 7
= 2+ 1+ 7
= 10

grannieali · 21/03/2021 18:13

A7 works. There must be other combinations.

@Elakiya

I followed you up to

2 + 1 + 1 x 7

which to me is

(2 + 1 + 1) x 7 = 28

Ok I need the answer

Shirls22 · 21/03/2021 18:19

50, no contest 😂

Elakiya · 21/03/2021 18:21

@LadyfromtheBelleEpoque

2 + 1 + 1 x 7

There are no brackets here so you need to use BIDMAS - Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction

so you multiply first and then do the addition
