What have you achieved today?

I started a thread on this during a slump last week and never came back to it. It must have worked as I went off and powered through several things.

The replies were so lovely ranging from minor to major things.

I'm not sure why-it must be mid week blues-I reach a bit of a blob mid week.

So today I had an important meeting and got some positive news about a client.

What have you achieved today?

Unpacked a food delivery, tidied the patio and put out my new solar fairy lights. Fed the hedgehog and made lunch

I’ve deep cleaned my front room moving all the furniture. That’s my whole house done over three days. I real sense of achievement until the weekend when it will be the same again and I’ll have to start again from Monday lol.

Have washed our bed sheets and put clean ones on. I’ve got a shopping delivery due in 15 minutes then making dinner.

Put washing machine on
Had breakfast and washed dishes
Had a shower
Stained my skin and half the bathroom with a charcoal body scrub
Dried off and decided to try a fake Footner thing
Didn't realise you have to leave it on for 90 minutes so had the perfect excuse to sit with my feet up and ask DC to fetch things for me.

Did school run
Housework
Couple hours at work
Made it through my workout even though I just want to sit on sofa eating chocolate (hormonal) so far managed to resist chocolate .

wrote a list of things I really need to do today, all but one ticked off!

3 loads of washing blowing on the line
Dishwasher empty, then re filled
Bleached the sink
Filled up coal/log basket (Very large one)
Swept up workshop of said coal and log mess
Tidied up the tip that was my boot of the car, all torn plastic bags in cycling bin, others sorted, sad but very therapeutic
Folded yesterdays washing all away
Rang the electrician/plumber to see if they can do 2 small outside jobs
Swept, cleaned and re laid the fire, its very chilly here, fire now on even with howling wind
Sorted out all the bedding from draws under the bed, blanket box and cupboard, all that I am not using and in excellent condition are going to the womens refuge
Got an on line delivery, and yay everything fits for a change!
Thats it so far now having a coffee before starting to chop veg for dinner....all rather boring really but feel I have accomplished quite a bit today

Took dog for a walk.
Did more laundry
Have helped DS get ready for tomorrow which is his first day back!

Sat on sofa, knitted half a jumper,walked the dog,made a carrot cake, shredded some papers,'re-potted some houseplants,had a nap.

@SingToTheSky it was a red velvet cake and I regret nothing!

Today DH and I repainted our whole bedroom with only minimal carpet stainage and I painted a ceiling for the first time. No cake though 😔

Ooh. I’ve never actually had a red velvet cake. I really should!

I highly recommend it, just ignore the serving suggestions

French lesson and read a chapter of my book on my breaks
Workout after work because I finished early!
Now drinking wine and ignoring the housework

Cancelled my childcare vouchers /salary sacrifice. Due to the lockdowns and school holidays we have not used nearly as much childcare as normal so have built up so much in childcare vouchers that we might struggle to use it up before DS leaves primary in 18months time!

Put up some pictures which look lovely.
Changed DDs bed and dusted her room. Put all her books in the bookcase , I even ordered them by author and apparently I've ruined her 'system' (floor storage). Anyhow, it looks great to me!
Cancelled a credit card I've paid off
Set eufy off on his hoover
Did a bit of work
Picked up dd as it was peeing down
Retrieved bird feeder and plastic greenhouse which had both fallen over last night

Got ahead of 'Pedro' in my duolingo league. He'll be back though...

Ate too much chocolate.
Ran with dog.
Depressed myself trying to job hunt and ate even more chocolate.

Today’s proper achievement - went for a brief walk even though it was raining. I only did that for Pokémon Go, but still.

Yoyo job hunting is vile at the best of times, you definitely earned the chocolate!

Yesss tooty - screw you pedro. What language? I have been brushing up on French a bit. DS was doing Italian but then the iPad screen broke so he’s probably forgotten it all!

@SingToTheSky I'm learning Italian as it seemed the most productive way of moving towards foreign travel.... also ticks off the 'stave of dementia' item on my list. DD is learning 4 languages on it and I'm staggered at how much longer it takes me to learn than her !

Ciao tooty :o it’s certainly keeping me on my toes - DS is home ed long term so him deciding to learn something means I have to learn it too 😂 I do think younger minds seem to just take it all on board more quickly!

Atalune I am not expecting much of myself today but I really want and need to phone the OU to ask various questions about enrolling for autumn. Before that I should write a list of things I need to find out!

I have been really productive today which makes me so happy!
Cleaned all 3 bathrooms
Steam mopped kitchen/diner
Vacuumed everywhere
Fluffed up all the sofas and cushions.
Put on 2 washes
Did 2 walks with different friends
Did a yoga class which was amazing
Polished the wooden sideboards

Thank you atalune I did! Got most of the info I needed, found out something really good about my course options and have started the ball rolling for the disabled student support too. Really chuffed with that :) also went for a short walk.

Other achievements today involve Netflix :o

Had a horrible day at work today so limited achievements , but I made a fish pie for the first time and also tidied my wardrobe a bit . Also got ahead of Pedro again on duolingo.
