Your Home Bargains <ahem> "essentials" are..?

lucysmam · 06/03/2021 20:23

I went to home bargains earlier on, specifically for things for dd2's packed lunches...I managed to come out £45 lighter Confused

I did get the packed lunch bits! And freezer slushes, and candles, and bath bombs, and a wireless mouse for dd1, and drumstick squashies dry shampoo and, well, the receipt's rather lengthy & random Grin

Normally I'm in and out in under ten minutes in a rush to get back & to work though.

What random "essentials" Hmm do you end up coming out with?

i love the wickford candles. just as good as yankees for a fraction of the price. they have sugared violet (smells like parma violets!) in at the moment and i’ve stocked up and have about ten in my candle cupboard.

boatyardblues · 06/03/2021 20:59

Cheap ramen noodles and beluga lentil pouches, a fraction of the price of the poncey Merchant Gourmet ones in Sainsburys and nicer.

SirSamuelVimes · 06/03/2021 21:06

Oh yes, have yet to find a better Xmas candle than their gingerbread ones. They smell amazing.

lucysmam · 06/03/2021 21:11

SirSamuel I agree, their gingerbread one is very nice, dd1 picks that one for me every Christmas. I had one lit in my kitchen yesterday evening & it scented the mask I'd put on the table ready for this morning. Took me ages to work out why I could smell gingerbread candle Grin

I love HB
Cleaning products(elbow grease)
Biscuits, Crisps
Wax melts
Artificial flowers (cemetery)
Last week I was £85 on essentials 🙈

NeedCoffeeToSurvive · 06/03/2021 21:21

I can't help myself and end up buying reusable water bottles and travel mugs, as if I don't already have 100 of each that barely fit in the kitchen cupboard as it is.

I do love their candles, the large Wickford & Co ones, they smell incredible and last ages.

hiccupgate · 06/03/2021 21:23

I always come out with a new cleaning product that I do really need.
The bacofoil cling film and foil refills
Lots of biscuits!

awishes · 06/03/2021 21:29

Foot peel that works for 89p!

StompStomp · 06/03/2021 21:39

NC for this.

DH works for HB. He can't go more than a few days without buying something. And I'm always sending him messages asking him to pick stuff up. Today he came home with toilet roll (Nicky but prefer Comfy Soft), bulbs and a new Daewoo handheld hoover for £28.

I always keep stocked up on Pink stuff and Astonish cleaning products, bathroom wipes, roasted pineapple rum liquor, and sooooo much chocolate.

I have to limit myself to Ben & Jerry's cookie dough to a couple of times a month. Must have self control.

GladysTheGroovyMule · 06/03/2021 21:41

I'd forgotten all about the stick on heat patches - I usually buy those in winter when I'm working my Saturday job (some prom dresses are bloomin' heavy to be lugging about all day!) but haven't needed them this year :(

I managed to get the dry shampoo! So happy.

CarnageAtTheCheeseFactory · 07/03/2021 12:55

I love HB, not been for a month, due a trip.
Do they still do exfoliating wipes?

Skyliner001 · 07/03/2021 12:59

Are the bath bombs vegan? Will have to check out if so 🌞🌈

CarnageAtTheCheeseFactory · 07/03/2021 13:07

I’m going to have to make a list...

Exfoliating wipes are top of the list, great for camping if for any reason the showers are not working/ available.
Dry shampoo as above.
Vitapointe as above.
Zofloraaaaa ....

Their white table crockery is of a decent standard too.
