This is a continuation of previous threads as I will be posting some more scenes of the Playmobil pandemic over forthcoming days and the previous thread is almost full.

For anyone who hasn't followed this, here is part 1 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/3878211-An-outbreak-of-Covid-19-has-occurred-for-the-Playmobil-people-in-our-house?watched=1&msgid=96400430#96400430

And part 3 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3955770-Playmobil-pandemic-in-our-house-part-3

I'll be adding new scenes in a few days. Smile

@SoMuchToBits

I have also bagged a couple of second hand bargains on eBay today. Result! Smile

The Playmo people will be happy.

I enjoyed a walk with my friend this morning. We walked to the park in the drizzle and had a flask of tea on a damp bench. Grin

This afternoon I bagged another eBay bargain and helped Norm and his mates to extend a house. Smile

Ha! They’ve obviously missed the anti-Sylvanian sentiment in Playmoland (as seen in the anti-vax protest).

I'm a bit tired today, so will wait until tomorrow to make another scene. Work got a bit manic by the end of the shift yesterday! Hopefully I'll have more energy tomorrow. Smile

A couple of my eBay bargains have arrived today. Very happy with them. Ds (who pretends he is no longer interested in Playmo) was eyeing them up this evening and commenting on how good they looked. Grin

They are sets I'm hoping to use later in the summer. Smile

Well done Bits I hope they were bargains.

SoMuchToBits · 20/03/2021 20:49

One of them was what I'd call a fair price, elephant, the other was quite a bargain, less than I had expected to pay, but was an auction and nobody else bid on it (surprisingly to me as is a good set). Smile

@SoMuchToBits have you ever worked out how much you've spent on plsymobile over the years 😁

You've definitely had your money's worth just keeping us entertained over the years!

SoMuchToBits · 21/03/2021 14:59

Haha, no, although many of the original sets are/were my ds's. Some of these were bought by me (as birthday/Christmas presents), some by relatives and friends, and some by ds himself, having saved up his money. He is quite happy for me to keep using his Playmo though. I think he'd rather it was used than just sat in boxes.

Also apologies for the lack of scenes today. I had some sad news this morning that a friend's dh died, which put a bit of a dampener on my day, but am hoping to post tomorrow instead.

NoGoodPunsLeft · 21/03/2021 19:11

I'm so sorry to hear your news, take care Thanks

SoMuchToBits · 21/03/2021 20:56

Thank you, the background is that my friend's dh (who was mid 60s) died from cancer. He was diagnosed about a year and a half ago, but the cancer was quite advanced then. He had been on treatment, which had largely worked, but started deteriorating significantly at the beginning of February this year.

He was able when he passed to be at home with his wife and daughter (mid 20s) with him. I had a brief messenger chat with my friend this afternoon, and she says the hospice staff were great and made his passing calm and dignified.

It was as good as it could have been but still sad. Sad

Also, I spoke to petalpower on the phone this evening. We are hoping to meet in about a week and a half. Really looking forward to that. And we were able to share our memories of my friend's dh, whom we both knew. Smile

Really sorry I haven't managed any scenes today. I've had the sort of day where the shower stopped working (electric shower, kept tripping the fuse), so I have been on the phone to electricians, being around to let electrician in etc, etc. It has completely stuffed my day up!

I'm not sure I'll get anything done before late next week tbh. I'm working tomorrow, Thursday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, so will be pretty tired in between. Then meeting petal on Wednesday. But hopefully I'll do something in early April! Smile

Sorry to read of your friend's DH dying, though the hospice are to be commended for their dignified work.

SoMuchToBits · 22/03/2021 19:56

Thank you Cuthbert. A great name, Norman the Foreman's police protection officer is called Cuthbert. Smile

Sorry to hear your news Bits and Petal Flowers

SoMuchToBits · 22/03/2021 21:58

Thanks, Chessie!

Working tomorrow, then quite a busy schedule for the next week or so. Hoped to get in the garden today as weather was good, but a bit stymied by having to get electrician round etc.

The good news is we now have a working shower again. The bad news is it cost ££ and I have had so many things go wrong in the house/garden the last year, I'm now fed up!

Since Feb last year - outside light failed, kitchen light failed, summer house perspex panel blew out in high winds, fence damaged, boiler failed, gas leak, kitchen tap leaked needing replacing, blender goblet cracked, iron broke, bathroom basin pop up plug broke, boiler failed again, fence broke again (in different place), shower failed. And my slippers fell apart needing replacing (not a house/garden thing, but still an expense).

What will be next I wonder? I'm sure things don't go wrong this often in Playmoland... Grin

OP posts:
ChessieFL · 23/03/2021 06:16

That is quite a catalogue of damage!

SoMuchToBits · 23/03/2021 06:23

Yes, I've had enough of it now...

Off to work in a minute, got to earn some money to pay for all these repairs/replacements. Grin

NoGoodPunsLeft · 23/03/2021 21:09

By the time you do the next scenes it'll be Easter here, do they celebrate in Playmoland Grin

NoGoodPunsLeft · 23/03/2021 21:10

Also hopefully now the shower is fixed that's it for a while 🤞🏻

SoMuchToBits · 23/03/2021 22:23

Thank you! I'm shattered from work (although it was a good shift), but a large parcel has arrived! Too tired to unpack it tonight, but will do this week. Smile

I’m sorry you’ve been having such a rotten time SoMuch. It’s a pity you can’t get Norman to organise the repairs for you - I’m sure he’d do a great job!
