What does your life revolve around?

Just talking to my OH and he said how our lives revolve around food more than anything else... When asked what it could be he said a hobby, exercising etc.

We have a DC so obviously she comes first. But am I the only one to think my life probably does revolve around food otherwise?!

What does your life revolve around?

I do work part time, study full time and am a healthy weight so there's no health issues/laziness issues - I don't think. But I don't have a 'hobby'

I would say DS first and foremost (only child so lots of attention required anyway, but home school and still being super needy/mummy obsessed adds to it!)

Then my to do list which is constantly going round my head - all the usual life admin things.

Then food (constantly bloody thinking about what to do for next meal, meal planning, online shopping order, looking up recipes etc)

Then cleaning/tidying.

I'm furloughed at the minute so work hasn't been occupying much head space so far this this year but will probably slot in between food and cleaning/tidying when I'm back to work.

I don't have any hobbies or even many friends really so not a lot of time dedicated to those.

Very sadly work and food - thinking about the latter all day. I wish I was one of the pp saying exercise.

itsgettingwierd · 25/02/2021 18:24

My ds is a swimmer.

In normal times my life revolves around that.

He's counting down the days until April the 12th.

I'm enjoying the 5am alarms on my phone remaining switched off Grin

Home-schooling
Work

These are totally taking over my life at the minute - my iPad stats for yesterday recorded 10 hours 35 mins just on those, which didn't include the time I also spent on my laptop. Am exhausted.

Only other thing I think about is food - what meals can I cook quickly and easily and what crap can I eat when I finally collapse in a heap in the evening.

Have nothing left to give to anything else in my life.

bloodywhitecat I'm so sorry you're losing your DH.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 25/02/2021 18:34

Making tea. Drinking tea. All I seem to do some days...

RubyWooRed · 25/02/2021 18:40

Before I even opened the OP post and just saw the title - first thing that popped in my head was food Grin

Not because I’m a huge foodie , it’s just because I have multiple DC and DH and all I seem to do is cook , prepare , and clean up after making food
It’s because we are all home so much more

Food is like the marker or interval points throughout the day to break up the day.

It becomes like another chore ...
Get up
Clean house
Make beds
Set up home school then ...
Oh god I need to think about food to cook and make for everyone AGAIN Grin

All day every day til eternity ...🧟‍♀️

Work 🙁

LER83 · 25/02/2021 18:59

Cleaning, even pre covid, my life revolves around it. I'm a sahm with 3 children, and feel that as I'm at home my house should be spotless and organised, but it's not, as quite frankly I've lost the will to live! Absolutely sick of it, but can't stop doing it.

notalwaysalondoner · 25/02/2021 18:59

Food - I love thinking about my next meal and planning them and cooking them and eating them.

Otherwise probably the biggest thing is work - both DH and I work long hours in stressful jobs.

And there’s also DH’s cycling - he’s quite flexible on when he does it but is quite religious about doing a certain number of hours per week so it’s not actually super flexible...

Type 1 diabetes it has to always come first and has a big impact on everything which is frustrating.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 25/02/2021 19:36

Sleeping - I work for the NHS. I have a fab memory foam bed and in winter I can barely tear myself from it.

The cats - they think they should be higher on this list!

blowinahoolie · 25/02/2021 19:42
