Because I think it is.

It's rubbish. We use an upgraded router rather than the one they provide but it still drops out all the time. It makes wfh very stressful because you never know what each day will bring. DP, who is retired, can't use Internet while I'm working or it stops-thank goodness we don't have school age kids at home trying to use it. It also struggles streaming TV such as I player. We can't afford Virgin and fibre isn't available here. I hate it.

Splann · 26/02/2021 09:06

Nope, that special title goes to Talk Talk. THE shittest company on the planet.

Plusnet have been really good for us.

mummabear74 · 26/02/2021 09:08

We have been with Plusnet for 12 years and until last March I'd only ever needed to contact them once. I've recommended them to many people in the past and we have our phones through them too. Throughout the problems we've had this past year the customer service team have been great but ultimately the problem hasn't been identified or fixed and I'm at a loss of what to do next.

changi · 26/02/2021 09:12

But Talk Talk gave me the worst customer service experience of my life

Are you my husband? He rants about Talk Talk.

Teddy1970 · 26/02/2021 09:16

Talk Talk is really bad, I can't wait to get rid of them.

ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia · 26/02/2021 09:19

Talk Talk, Sky and OneTel from my experience were all terrible with exceedingly poor customer service. EE and formerly O2 were the best. They all use the same BT Openreach infrastructure and equipment unless you have Virgin or Hyperoptic fibre from hub to building.

I gathered Plus Net are formerly BT and BT and EE has combined.

darklady64 · 26/02/2021 09:38

Sorry you are having problems. We've been with Plusnet for years and years and never had a problem. The one that gets all the comments on our local Facebook page is Virgin, which seems to be down or slow every other day.

WhipperSnapperSteve · 26/02/2021 09:53

Plus used to be amazing, I was a customer for 20 years. Their customer service is in the dirt and the quality of actual service is mediocre-ok. Will never go back to them.

Blindstupid · 26/02/2021 09:55

I had sky, no problems. Changed to plusnet fibre ... bloody awful 😡

murbblurb · 26/02/2021 11:11

twitter is quite a good way of getting customer service now - assuming your internet holds up. @plusnethelp seems to be the thing. Worth a go?

Mally2020 · 26/02/2021 11:19

I worked for them for a while when I lived in sheffield, rubbish job, and the internet is even worse, on our training we were literally told people are getting the same from us what they can get elsewhere for cheaper or better.

GooodMythicalMorning · 26/02/2021 13:49

@mummabear74 We bought our own as they seemed reluctant to send us another but im soo glad we did. its this:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01LFGTEI6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

sorry for amazon link.

It's brilliant now.

Talking of talktalk they were rubbish, when I phoned to cancel they were so rude they made me cry.

Purplemarshmallows · 26/02/2021 13:54

We were with them for a few years with no problems, other half went to pay the bill one day & it wouldn't let him so he tried again the next day still couldn't pay it so he phoned them up, said they had upgraded the system & they couldn't do anything at the moment, this went on for 18 months (not being able to pay), started having problems with the line so other half contacted them, they had no record of us so they couldn't sort it, we've moved back to bt now but it was nice not having to pay plusnet for 18months & as they had no record of us they couldn't send a bill when we left!
