All guardians of toddlers welcome, we offer ideas, activities, and a shoulder to lean on when it all gets too much. We’ve conquered winter, next stop spring!

Oh no, no wonder your feeling knackered same4walls there's nothing more annoying than a late night party. The weather has not been too bad here but we've also done nothing.

DD has conveniently got a cold this evening, she's gone to sleep but we'll see how it goes.

Chocolatetrifle · 28/03/2021 21:57

Today feels like it has had 4 extra hours added onto itself, not one taken off...

Hope everyone gets some decent sleep...

Motherofmonsters · 29/03/2021 00:30

Tonight is not going well, DD is full of snot and is not staying asleep. I w lost count of her wake ups

It’s shite is this.

It really is! I've given her calpol and smeared vapour rub everywhere. I really thought I had got somewhere
MonkeyPuddle · 29/03/2021 01:09

Tonight is just a blip. Just a miserable blip. You’ll be back to a quick pat and sleep tomorrow.

Do it for all of us!

OhToBeASeahorse · 29/03/2021 01:23

Solidarity,DD has woken every hour so far.

MonkeyPuddle · 29/03/2021 01:33

DD has just farted herself awake.

MonkeyPuddle · 29/03/2021 01:54

And has puked over herself. Grim.

Motherofmonsters · 29/03/2021 04:05

Oh no monkeypuddle what a nightmare.

Sorry your DD has been waking lots to seahorse.

DS has now been awake since 2am, he's got a whole day at preschool today. What a disaster that's going to be

PinkDaydreams · 29/03/2021 07:47

Oh no there seems to be alot of sleepless nights on this thread at the minute 😔

Well considering there's a heat wave on the way the weather is very windy here this morning, rain all day yesterday too.

Can I ask how new restrictions will be affecting everyone, has anyone any nice plans? 😊 Sadly for me I'll be carrying on wth no change as my family don't live local so don't think I'm allowed to see them yet.

Chocolatetrifle · 29/03/2021 08:24

@MonkeyPuddle, hope DD is feeling better today and you got some sleep?

@Motherofmonsters, hope you got some rest too, are DD and DS better this morning?

@PinkDaydreams, definitely no heatwave here as yet. We are in a bubble with my parents no change there for us.

I'm having a nightmare with my DS1, I can't do anything right and he is acting 3 going on 13.

Same4Walls · 29/03/2021 08:53

Sorry ro hear everyone had a truly crappy nights sleep. We were up at 4 and finally got DS back to sleep at 6.30. We then finally managed to doze off only to be woken by some twat beeping his horn incessantly at 7am. Angry

Well considering there's a heat wave on the way the weather is very windy here this morning, rain all day yesterday too.

Same here it's very blowy and we have grey skies it looks decidedly the opposite of a heat wave.

Motherofmonsters · 29/03/2021 09:33

No rest here but DS has gone to Preschool, I'm sure I'll get a phone call though as he struggles when tired. DD is full of cold, no idea where from.

Just seen that children count towards the 6 which is annoying. I'll be ignoring it with family but my group of friends were really looking forward to meeting but there's too many with children

Same4Walls · 29/03/2021 10:08

Motherofmonsters hopefully the cold is short lived. Ds had a snotty nose last wrek I've no idea where it came from.

Oh really I was hoping under 5s at least would be excluded, that's totally rubbish. Sad

PinkDaydreams · 29/03/2021 10:18

I thought under 5s were excluded?

Same4Walls · 29/03/2021 10:22

@PinkDaydreams

This is from a BBC article.

Children, no matter how old they are, are included in the count. Professional carers are not - as long as they are working

Motherofmonsters · 29/03/2021 10:53

Trying to get DD to nap in her cot, I was going to feed to sleep for naps still but she doesn't want to. Were basically making fake snoring sounds at each other

MonkeyPuddle · 29/03/2021 14:49

Well bugger me after a crap night we’ve had a good day. DD napped in the cot for the first time ever! I don’t know how or why or how to replicate it mind you. I’ve got to the bottom of the wash baskets and made a vat of soup. I’ve very clearly peaked for the week.
DS is with his dad today, hes taken him to his fave park over there, which he normally can’t be bothered to do.

Highs of 20 expected tomorrow so I think we’ll be in the park aaaaallll day. DS is ginger so we will start the annual fight to apply sun cream. So there’s that to look forward to.

Chocolatetrifle · 29/03/2021 15:07

We've had a playground visit and DS1 collected 10 worms and put them at the top of the slide! DS2 loving the playground also, totally in his element. Sun out but windy.

I may have eaten a Yorkie Easter egg intended for someone else Blush.

MonkeyPuddle · 29/03/2021 15:16

Ah I love the 10 worms! DS is a worm fan, he can spend ages with a stick digging around for them.
I’ve just had my GP surgery call and offer me a spare vaccine, yes please!!

Today is going too well. I am very clearly going to be awake all night to pay for it.

Same4Walls · 29/03/2021 16:12

So glad you've had a much deserved great day MonkeyPuddle! Long may both the good days and the napping continue.

Chocolatetrifle love the thought of some unsuspecting small person coming across 10 worms all lined up at the top of the slide. Grin well done on only eating one Easter egg!

We've also been to the park and played in the garden today. Although small monster refuses to keep a hat on no matter what and has scratched his face with a stick but other than that we too have had a lovely day. Smile

Chocolatetrifle · 29/03/2021 18:13

OK, so half of the garden is a mud swamp but the sun was shining in part of it and have managed to stop 3 year old whining by creating an adventure playground by putting the toddler slide into a pop up tent with ball pit balls in, both thought it was brilliant. Going to do the same tomorrow as it's supposed to be dry and hopefully sunny. Bonus points for the play tunnel too.

Hope everyone is ok and gets some sleep tonight.

drumst1ck · 29/03/2021 18:27

Lovely day here, managed to catch up with a friend in her garden and spent the rest of it in our garden. DD happily wandered round finding flowers and mud and digging with a trowel while I sat with my feet up. Pure bliss!

Let's hope this weather continues for a while so we can all make the most of it!!

And so glad you had a good day @MonkeyPuddle, you deserve it!
