Please settle a very Covid related argument. Of the following items how many do you have in your house right now.
Eggs
Cheese
Bread
Apples
Cucumber
Frozen peas
Flour
Hummus
Wine

@Mrgrinch

Since when was hummus so popular?
I’m actually surprised so many people DON’T have hummus... I thought it was a major staple.
BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 13/02/2021 10:46

Eggs- 16
Cheese- lots
Bread- 2 loaves
Apples- 20
Cucumber- 1.5
Frozen peas- 3/4 a large bag
Flour- self raising, plain, whole meal, gluten free plain, bread, 00
Hummus- 0, do have chickpeas though*
Wine- 6 bottles
Crisps- mixed selection, not sure how many as I don't really eat them anymore
We're a family of 7 which is why we have a ridiculous amount of apples!

VioletCharlotte · 13/02/2021 10:46

I only have the flour, hummus and crisps!

I'm vegan though so don't eat eggs or cheese. I have pitta bread, does that count as bread?

Kitchen staples for me are oat milk, pitta, hummus, bananas, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, chickpeas, potatoes and coconut milk.

All of it is staple food. I don't eat apples, the children don't drink wine. You need to LTB, this will not get better and you will be happier out.

Kljnmw3459 · 13/02/2021 12:17

Eggs, cheese, bread, flour, wine.

SkepticalCat · 13/02/2021 12:57

Everything except hummus (sorry @AtleastitsnotMonday Grin)

DrunkenKoala · 13/02/2021 14:16

Eggs - 6 (4 are for breakfast tomorrow and will use the other 2 in a cake next week)

Cheese - 250g block of cheddar

Bread - half a loaf for breakfast tomorrow. And small loaf of warbarton’s toastie in freezer for whenever I feel like a bit of toast in the evenings.

Apples - finished them off this morning along with bananas and pears (now have no fresh fruit in house).

Cucumber - finished it off at lunchtime along with lettuce, tomatoes and peppers.

Frozen peas - about half a bag in freezer.

Flour - over 1.5kg of self raising. Under 500g of plain.

Hummus - none never eat it

Wine - mix of white and red, plus beer and baileys

Crisps - mix of smoky bacon and roast chicken, did finish off salt and vinegar earlier.

Got a delivery coming tomorrow morning which will replace everything that’s been finished off today.

RedSoloCup · 13/02/2021 14:40

We have all those, teenage DC eat a lot of houmous but I spell it like that lol

sadpapercourtesan · 13/02/2021 14:41

All of them except cucumber. I've gone off it.

Wolfcub · 13/02/2021 14:42

Everything but apples abs cucumber

wonkylegs · 13/02/2021 14:47

All of them however I wouldn't consider them all staple foods and I'm literally sitting down with a coffee after doing a big food shop.

merryhouse · 13/02/2021 22:44

All but the hummus

FindingMeno · 13/02/2021 22:46

All except wine, and wouldn't ordinarily have crisps.

doctorhamster · 13/02/2021 22:46

All of them

MolyHolyGuacamole · 13/02/2021 22:50
  1. Would have been 6 but I've eaten the last of the crisps. No veg and the only fruit is bananas waiting for a as bread. I live alone. Had 3 bottles of wine yesterday but only 1 now 😬
LaPoesieEstDansLaRue · 13/02/2021 22:53

No hummus or wine.
We have some crisps but that's very unusual. I'd say all the other things are staples.

mykitchenruler · 14/02/2021 11:17

All except apples, this week I bought pears instead.

TooMinty · 14/02/2021 11:19

@dementedpixie

Everything but the hummus

Snap!

ArmchairTraveller · 14/02/2021 11:28

Eggs : I buy 30 at a time from a local farm, currently have 14

Cheese : Loads, including grated in the freezer. At least a dozen varieties

Bread : bloomer, thick sliced white, pitta, ciabatta, flatbreads

Apples : Three varieties of eating apple, and cookers

Cucumber : not at the moment

Frozen peas : just under 2Kg

Flour : Plain, SR, 3Kg of each. Spelt 1Kg , buckwheat, cornmeal 500g

Hummus : yes

Wine : around a dozen red, 6 white, 4 sparkling and 3 bottles of champagne.

Crisps : Only eat them outside the house.

RhubarbTea · 14/02/2021 11:29

We don't have apples, cucumber, hummus, crisps or wine.
(But I did eat a sack of crisps yesterday, otherwise we'd still have some)

knittingaddict · 14/02/2021 11:45

No hummus. Don't really see it as a staple. Bacon is a staple.

No cucumber. Neither my husband nor I like cucumber. Same for bananas and pomegranates. We are very compatible. Grin

yikesanotherbooboo · 14/02/2021 11:45

No hummus or apples.

Bearlyclearly · 14/02/2021 12:03

No hummus or frozen peas but have everything else. I love hummus and never think to buy it so I’ve added it to the Ocado order with some pitta bread for this week.

HoxtonBonnet · 17/02/2021 08:44

Everything apart from:
cucumber - food of the devil
wine - trying to resist temptation on weekdays
crisps - resisting temptation reasons again

Deathraystare · 17/02/2021 08:48

Don't have flour, hummus (have it occasionally) or wine. Have crisps but brought them to work!
