Dr Chris, Dr Xand, or indeed, both?

Inspired by the Mr Tumble thread, DS has now moved on to CBBC and I have discovered the lovely doctors. I can't decide which is my favourite Grin Dr Chris has the calm bedside manner but Dr Xand and his beard... Also, I must know- are they as lovely in real life?!

Xand-Chris sandwich. Obviously.

Dr Chris is married with children I think so better you all choose Dr Xand.

SaintGutFree · 07/02/2021 18:22

They both just seem lovely and genuine, and the interaction with the kids feels natural and the kids appear to love them too. I do think Dr Chris is a smidge more handsome...

Both ideally.

They are both lovely. That documentary they were in a few months ago, where Dr Chris was watching his brother having his heart shocked. Brought a few tears to my eyes...

My dc (and I) learned so much from Operation Ouch. They have a great way of explaining difficult concepts in a way that's clear and easy to understand. I also enjoyed that documentary about the plague a while ago with one of them in it.

I don't fancy them but I'd love to just spend an afternoon hanging out with them. They seem so fun, interesting and down to earth.

I think it was Dr Chris who was on a tv show about how we over medicate our kids with calpol and that a fever is natural etc. His child got a fever and he didn’t give her calpol and he was saying how high it was getting and I got the impression his wife wanted to give some to their child. It all made me feel quite uncomfortable. Yes we shouldn’t give it at first whinge and fevers aren’t always harmful but they can accompany pain and shivers or even seizures. I kind of thought he’d have encouraged his wife not to have an epidural.

Drs Chris and Xand did a documentary about Covid. Dr Xand is unfortunately suffering from long covid Sad

I agree with the users that want both. Threesome has to be the way to go in my fantasy!

Yes that was quite moving, although DH and I did comment about what if he hadn't been all right and his (televised) last words were "oh FUCK!!". (Obviously knowing that wouldn't happen...)

They did one on alcohol ages ago as well which probably shouldn't have been as funny as it was. They had the same amount of alcohol - one of them drank a little every night for a week and the other had it all at once in a massive binge, to see if the effect on the liver was different. But it turned out that the binging one was a sad drunk.... The sober one poured him into a taxi and I remember a conversation along the lines of:

"Are you okay? You're usually quite cheery and you seem sad."
"Yes I am sad. I'm SAD!"
"Why are you feeling so sad?"
"I don't knooooooooow"

It was honestly hilarious.

Hard to choose but I think Dr Xand. The DC keep putting it on when I am trying to work but it's so distracting as they are both so nice and it's really interesting.

InglouriousBasterd · 07/02/2021 18:52

Xand- he has the wicked gleam in his eye and really amuses me. Chris is lovely but I feel a little more sensible Grin

mamaca · 07/02/2021 19:41

My 7yo DD has recently started watching this and I have to admit I love it too! 😆 they both seem like lovely guys, good examples of how real-life doctors should interact with their patients.

JengaJuice · 07/02/2021 19:45

Definitely Dr Xand - he looks like he’d be utter filth 😁
