Honey, I think lots of people feel lost this year. It's been so crazy. In a way it's not helpful for you that so many of us on this thread are in jobs that require us to keep working throughout while you were handed a life-changing decision and then locked into a situation where you can't change it at the moment.

And I also think during lockdown there are times when it just does get tough and overwhelming.

You still have sooo much to offer (we're all very interested in coming to your mobile cafe once all this is over!). It's just you can't offer it right now.
It's ok to feel low. Especially when we can't reach out to friends or extended family like we normally would when we need a lift (or just a hug!).
Sending love x

Totally agree with this. It's been such a disconcerting year and so many things are out of our control. This is exhausting and wears you down.

I smile wryly at the fact that this time last year I was reassuring my Year 6 pupils saying that school closure was very unlikely to happen and it was only being mentioned in the news as a very remote possibility.
Even when we close I naively thought we would reopen after Easter. I also (foolishly) envisaged the reopening to be like the first day of term after the Summer holidays where we all waltz back in and slot into out old routine.

NeedToKnow101 · 15/02/2021 17:17

@MNerGoneRogueAgain - it's Primal Scream... Moving on up..
I got them mixed up with Happy Monday's..

NeedToKnow101 · 15/02/2021 17:19

Oops Blush... I honestly didn't see that Pantry just got it as well as me

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 15/02/2021 17:22

Correct pantry. Too slow needtoknow.

Pantry, you're so right. We had such ridiculous ideas of what lockdown meant, how long it would last, etc. sighs

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 15/02/2021 17:24

You can't describe that as pipping needtoknow. Just sloppy reading on your part.

I honestly thought you'd get it straight away, so no sympathy from me

Fleamaker123 · 15/02/2021 17:27

Sorry you're feeling like that Honeyroar 😘 I agree it's a strange time, like being in limbo. And totally identify with feeling a bit lost after redundancy. It's life changing really.
We all need something to look forward to! Xx

FlouncingBabooshka · 15/02/2021 17:28

Yes, of course you’re right Rogue. I’ve just re-read my last post and feel I should apologise. Re-reading it I realise it sounds terribly down and sort of accepting of feeling like that, which isn’t how I meant it at all. I just meant it’s understandable to feel like that. And I’m probably just projecting how I feel onto others which is clumsy and unhelpful. Because of the restrictions Mr FB’s health places on what I can do, and the temporary restrictions on everyone’s lives at the moment, it’s easy to forget this is just a temporary halt on what everyone can and can’t do.

Of course there are lots of wonderful things ahead once this crazy situation is under control.

I should probably shut up and post some lyrics instead 🙄

NeedToKnow101 · 15/02/2021 17:58

Don't apologise for your thought and feelings Flouncing B - they are totally valid. And it reads as relating and empathy and understanding, which is all good ❤️❤️

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 15/02/2021 18:17

I agree with needtoknow. I only didn't say anything because your apology was to honey, so it wasn't my place to absolve you, FlouncingB.

Several of us made comments to honey. Some may resonate with her more strongly than others, but what she'll surely get is that we care about her. All of us. And that's the important thing. We want her to feel our affection for her and I think she will.

@CoffeeBeansGalore I think we need cake. Can you supply (and FlouncingB also needs chocolate if you have any)?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 15/02/2021 18:21

As requested 😗

Ooh crikey Coffee! I’ve been doing well with the baking, but nothing like that! (been doing pretty well at getting fat as a side affect too!!)

CoffeeBeansGalore · 15/02/2021 18:26

They are easy Honey! Just takes a bit of time. Nice to do if dh is glued to the rugby & I make my way to the kitchen 😁

❤️ and Thanks to Honey, FB and anyone else feeling down at the moment . Which is probably all of us to a certain extent .

Cake looks gorgeous Coffee .

Oh, on the subject of disastrous romances , last I heard of my first love he was living with another man . Long time ago this happened but not good for your ego, believe me!

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 15/02/2021 18:42

Wowsers, coffee. Those look good. Can I have a slice of both, please? (Just a small one, though). Is there any tea to go with it? Just wondering.

Or, to put it another way, shiny, you've ruined him for any other woman.

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 15/02/2021 18:43

I hate to say this, coffee. But I think that's Roxette. And I think it's the look Blush

NeedToKnow101 · 15/02/2021 18:45

'I agree with needtoknow. I only didn't say anything because your apology was to honey, so it wasn't my place to absolve you, FlouncingB. '

I did think that too Rogue, but I was worried no-one would respond for a bit, and didn't want FB to feel bad..

'I'm the Absolver, Twisted Absolver.... '

NeedToKnow101 · 15/02/2021 18:50

@shinynewapple21 - my childhood boyfriend (my other first love but we never kissed - probably a clue) - also turned out to be gay. Grin

NeedToKnow101 · 15/02/2021 18:51

Love your cakes Coffee! 😍
